108 Bolt Tool and rebuild

Hi All,

I have a set of 108s that I am looking to fully refurbish over the next month but I was wondering does anyone know where to get the tool for removing the bolts? I think they might have been removed in the past as they dont all seem to be in by the same amount is there any major issues with removing these? Do the holes need to be re threaded or anything to be on the safe side?

Any pointers would be great!

Sealey also do a reasonably priced full set of bits (available from machine mart). When you are undoing the bolts use a medium sized ratchet spanner, make sure the bit is fully located in the bolt head and apply a steady force and they should undo with no issues apart from a sweaty brow. Don't be tempted to knock them loose with a hammer as they can snap if you do. I would recommend tapping out the holes before rebuilding and using some form of thread-lock when re-fitting the bolts. I am currently re-furbishing a set of 108's too, will let you know of any issues I encounter. :thumbsup:

I think the trouble I will have is the last owner just painted over the whole lot so I am going to have to strip the paint from inside the bolts first! I was thinking of re-tapping the holes or maybe paying for somewhere to do it let me know if you have any issues with it
