Does anyone know the best place to get split rim alloy's refurbished near Aldershot and what the rough cost would be?
Cheers

A Forum member highly recommended Primo Alloy in Guildford. They quoted me about £320 inc. VAT for all 4 wheels, but these were 224s, so not split rims. I haven't got around to getting them done yet, so I cannot speak from first hand experience.

A lot of places will want you to pre split them. As you can imagine after around a decade? They're not particularly straightforward to remove and refurbishers just CBA with the added hassle!

cheers for the reply guys I have a look into it further. One place I spoke to said that some split rims use plastic bolts!!!! :o

108s don’t have plastic bolts  but can snap like plastic whilst trying to remove them but once split and refurbished can look mint shop around and check reviews regarding finishes ect good luck 😉 141EDD45-8FAD-4D08-B0B8-E191AFB08FFC.jpeg

They're definitely not plastic, they're made by BBS and use titanium bolts. If you're going to split them yourself, it would be advisable to use a penetrating lubricant beforehand a few times, and if you can get an impact gun.

I managed to nearly split a set by hand, 79 bolts came out painlessly and one rounded off entirely, so its a risk to expect.

Split them yourself and then any wheel place should be able to do them.

A good quality 12 sided torx but and an impact gun make short work of them.

Whatever you do, make sure they mask the mating faces off otherwise it will cause run out. Just ask [ref]jamie_z4[/ref] what happens when they don't...

The wheel specialists in Farnborough have quoted me £572 for all four.
I would just have to drop the car off for the week.
They would; strip the wheels down, split the rims, paint both pieces different colours and then remount them and balance.
What do you think of this price wise?
Cheers Jon

Leppsons charged me £600 same thing leave the car for a week but the rim was diamond cut finish and all bolts were replaced with brand new ones.

My son is having some done at the moment with Rimtec at Meopham in kent, they are doing the two colour, gun metal inner and silver rims (pretty much as bz4kev ones), they put a spare set on his car so he is not without, and inc VAT £520, that includes stripping them back, making good any damage etc, I believe they are ex Lepson guys, very professional and helpfull
