And the seller has advised me he wants £800 for the alloys or £1200 with used tyres

Doesn't say that in the advert. But I guess it is advertised in the "rims" category. Don't think he'll be getting the £800 he's hoping for!
Any takers on whether he'll end the auction early? Then put it back up as a BIN? lol

Sold for £300. (Not mine)

The £300 was me he canceled and sent a very checky and argumentative email about how he told me he wanted £800 and I was the "most stupid" for bidding - Some people are funny!

report him to eBay as it had no reserve on them I don’t know some people crack me up they are only worth what someone is willing to pay and if it’s not enough fix your price muppet

As above - report him! That's against eBay rules

Sales can't be cancelled within the last 12 hours and certainly not once sold. I don't know what your legal standing is but he should at least be reported to ebay. If he wanted £800 he should have put a reserve on or done buy it now, but both of those methods would cost him extra to list so he has listed for 99p to avoid paying ebay. It is not only you that has lost out but ebay (not that I lose much sleep over that!). FWIW I fancied them too, but wouldn't bid based on your £800 post because I feared driving a hundreds of miles to be told what you were when I arrived.

He sent a message right away after the auction ended to not pay. Then canceled based on being "out of stock". I have reported to Ebay I'll see what there response is. He has said he is relisting them and that I "better not waste his time by making stupid bids or I will be reported for harassment"

eBay "monitor" messages - but make sure to emphasise to them what he has been saying in messages and screenshot proof for them if required.

If nothing comes of it.... then we should all wait for them to relist and bid them up to £5000 or something then not pay

Just make sure to use a "throw-away" account haha

haha to right rough justice

What a grade A dick. I'd contact him, tell him £800 sounds reasonable and arrange a viewing. Waste the A Holes time, just use a burner sim card as a blocked number might make him suspicious or his phone may actually just block those numbers entirely so he wont even know you've called. :D

Well worth £800, these are the best looking wheel for the E85 IMHO :P
And I'm not biased either

+1 lol - the seller sounds like he has a serious attitude problem.. I kinda hope eBay punish him in some form!

If he's sent you those exact messages through the eBay messenger, then eBay will be able to see those.

They will just give him a warning though if it's the first time he's done this.

I had one recently where I had something advertised for a tenner and some guy messaged me offering 30 quid if he could pick it up that day. I accepted, but eBay didn't like it as the deal wasn't done correctly, so they lost out on the 3 quid (10%) final value fee.

I got a warning for that. Oh well

I was going to bid on these alloys, as he lives relatively close to my in-laws in Scotland. Glad I didn't now. He sounds like a proper Buckfast drinking tosser.

Yes still now word from eBay but I have sent them the messages and had a fair bit fun running the guy in circles - I have a second eBay account

I'll just have to wait and see what happens now
