1000th Post

So, my 1000th post. In 3 months. I tried to think about what to post – should I go for my car history, how I came to this forum, the history with my zed…. but decided on none of these. In fact, I thought I would expand on why I have been so active on this forum.

I know I really should do something else, but have found myself drawn to participating on this forum regularly – from the humour, to participating in discussions, it’s been a blast. It’s also an amazing source of how-to’s, guidance and expert knowledge, all freely offered. My understanding of my zed has increased dramatically over the last 3 months, in direct contrast to my wallet!

Additionally, I have felt very welcome here from my first post - usually, having an opinion on other forums has been an invite to criticism and increasing levels of abuse – thankfully, this forum is different; the atmosphere is one of friendly banter, much like your friendly local pub. And, for that reason, above all else, thanks to all.

Finally, no post would be complete without pictures, and so here are a couple from today’s pootling:

Congrats Mark

4 star bloke, 4 star car :D

If you ever have a fit of madness and decide to sell I want a test drive

Yeah, my bad Stuart - it does upset some of the Alpina purists. I've kept the BMW originals, and having the Alpina roundels on also confuses people (one guy even asked me if it was a Swiss import ;)). I put them on the side indicators first, but then decided I liked the look, and had the boot & bonnet replaced as well. I have to replace them each year (due to the fading) but I prefer the look. Not everyone's taste though - one enthusiast even told me I'd purchased an Alpina copy :slaphead:

Wow, that is some serious posting looks like Adamski has some competition.

Great looking Alpina though.

I'd say here's to next 1000 but somehow don't think it's necessary or even that it will take that long.

There was a supplier recommended on the Register that supplied roundels that didn't fade. I need to check it out as I need new wheel badges.

Wow - 1000 posts- we joined at the same time. Feel the same about the forum - just a lot less posting! Great car - great pics.
