£100 light bulb!!

Went to halfords at lunch to pick up a new dipped head light as drivers side had gone. Bought a couple of 477 bulbs, the Philips 30% brighter ones. £20 each - decided to keep a spare.

Get home, take the wheel off (for easy access), wrestle with the wheel arch, fight with the headlight cover. Finally got access, put on the rubber gloves on and I've got the wrong bulb.

I look at the bulb in there, it has the normal bulb, plus a metal stalk to one side. At the base of the bulb it says D2S.

So now I'm trying to find the right bulb. This is what I've found.

Any recommendations on the bulb brand or the retailer to buy from?

I'd like to avoid spending £100 on a bulb to be totally honest!

You can just buy any D2S bulb, I've had several no names off ebay and they've lasted the couple of years I've had the cars. For the price you can just buy a pair of 4300k as the colour temp may be slightly off if you mix brands.

if its a d2s bulb that means you have xenons... and yes they are a bit more expensive, but also meant to last for the life of the car.

These say D2s and wont break the bank. might wanna replace both bulbs if you want the colours to match 500K = white. 6000K+ = blueish tint

Nice one guys!

2 x d2s xenon bulbs for 12.95 delivered.

Not expecting them to last long, so ordered 4 in total.

Cheers.
