I have a complete system, radio , speakers, tweeters, amp, subs, fascias, wiring harness all removed carefully form a working car being dismantled. wiring is all intact, clips all good.

purchased to fit into myZ, but in honesty, i just cant be arsed....

£450.

amp's are worth £200 on their own second hand.

i have the system and i sold the amp as i had to upgrade everything bar the speakers in order to get a new head unit to work. full re-wire job with static crossovers, etc.

IMO it now sounds a lot better. so personally i'd invest that £450 into a much more modern system. I now have dual bluetooth (2 phones), DAB radio, MP3 CD's, USB memory stick input and aux, etc.

DAB radio is crystal clear and has tons of bass. normal radio is just all treble.

just doing some work in the garage, and came across this lot again in the cupboard.
let me know if anyone fancies a winter project -

Hi, I have a basic 6 speaker Business Radio, I want to put in an original 10 speaker system including door speakers and larger, speakers behind seats, as a complete kit. Anyone able to help (PS have blue tooth, capability on system already).

I do have a complete 10 speaker carver dsp system that I removed from my 2007 Z4M Roadster that I parted out earlier this year. Comes with speaker/headunit and door wiring looms, speaker grill covers, and even the business radio Headunit, effectively everything you need. PM if you're interested, thanks.

How easy is it to fit this into a Zed with the basic system ?

You can get an idea from simplecarguy z4 on youtube. He upgrades all the speakers, but for a full retrofit as an amateur, I would set aside a couple of days. You have to take off the rear bulkhead trim, perhaps remove the seats etc. It’s not a small job, but it’s not a small upgrade either.

I would like to do this, but I don’t have space for all the parts!!
A double garage would be a bonus! Hehe

I’ve always wanted one in my car but I just cannot be bothered with the hassle of the wiring loom.
A forum member “wassup” kindly offered to do a deal and fit, but, the journey and then instal in 1 day seemed optimistic.
Kinda regret it now though.

Lesson learned, due you due diligence on ICE when buying a car.

Having removed the complete system from my 2007 Z4M Roadster, it's certainly time consuming but not technically difficult as I have the complete wiring loom. So long as you've got the room and patience and are fairly competent with removal of interior trim panels, then I don't think it's a difficult task.

Should probably also say I've got the door looms which will be required to add the extra midrange speakers that are missing from the basic 6 speaker set up.
