10 speaker setup sound quality

I have the prof. sound system setup with 10 speakers and maybe it's just me but the sound does not sound like a prof. setup?
Is there a way to improve on it via the DSP settings? A guide somewhere perhaps?

Also in terms of upgrading the speakers, is the only option option BSW? Or no point as the amp is probably not that great anyway?
 
Not just you, it will not win any SQ awards IMO. I would characterize it as marginally adequate. The DSP settings will definitely help if you have nav, but the presets without nav are not that helpful. Some people like the jazz setting, doesn't work for me.

The subs are driven with an unusual voltage, so nothing to change there without changing everything. While there are speakers that work in the other positions, there are often fitment issues. I personally don't think it's worth changing the speakers and keeping the amp, though others have done this and are happy with the results.

And as far as upgrades what do people change to when they swap out everything?
Are there any kits like the BSW ones but with amp + subs also?

IMO, there's little point with the BSW kit.

For your money, there's far better aftermarket solutions out there.

I personally essentially ripped out my 10 speaker set up and swapped it for a simple system, sounds far better and is considerably more rewarding acoustically.
 
Listened to one, it don't cut the mustard, there's not enough oomph. I have the ten speaker set up and had the business stereo for some reason, looked in to the pro route and decided for the money an aftermarket system was the way to go. I have tv, sat nav, internet, youtube the whole lot and a small sub in the boot with an amp incorporated. The sub makes all the difference, it's not all about caps on back to front and dub step, I was playing dark side of the moon this morning, like it should be played, loud and tried it without the sub, it was crap. £130 makes the difference you are looking for, it's slimline and if you like a bit of dub step, it bangs. Did you just wire this in alongside the factory amp?
Any pics of the setup?

That's the one, though I've not tried it on mine yet.
 
Don't think mine had an amp, ill find out. I would have thought the pro hu would have a connection in the back for a sub. Ill take a pic in the morning and try my upmost to get it on here for you, it really isn't intrusive and the fun lovin criminals were fantastic earlier. :D

How did you wire it in, directly to the head unit or at the cables behind the driver's seat(in the partition between cabin and boot, where the the AMP usually sits).
Also how is the sound off it, considering it's not in the cabin?
 
To the unit through the little hole and all the way up the middle. Sound? It's never going to win any competitions but it does add that oomph that is missing from basic car sound systems. It's not too loud from outside, well windows in shops don't bend but old people give you a dirty look if you pump it, which is nice. It's got a gain control and I can turn the bass down in the cabin giving those speakers less strife and the box fills in the missing link, only one person hasn't been impressed but he's a twat anyway, so he don't count. Ha ha ha, no he is. I'm an ex house dj, so I am a bit fussy and for the money it presses the right buttons. Playing hotel costes volume 4 tonight and I was hearing stuff I've never heard before on that album and I convinced myself it's because I'm not over basing the mid range like I used too, I might be wrong but it makes sense in my head.
