Today marks a year since I picked up my Z4 from the dealer so I thought I'd post a few thoughts and a couple of pics. It was a tough decision to buy it in the first place, as I live in London and cars don't make a huge amount of sense here, but I'm really glad I did. Still look forward to driving it as much as I did 12 months ago.
Issues: Had the EML come on during one of the coldest/wettest days of last year and the car spent a couple of minutes in limp mode, but the problem passed almost immediately and it has been fine ever since. No other issues.
Mileage: I've done just under 5k miles, nearly all of which have been spent outside of London. Many sunny days with the top down and several visits to see family and friends across the country. Great fun.
Best roadie: Down to Le Mans with a few of my mates. This is a yearly pilgrimage for us and it was made all the better by taking my own car for the first time. I was really impressed at how comfortable it was on the long journey and it still felt pretty special when we were hooning around the circuit afterwards, complete with baguette aerial.
Best mod: I didn't think I would change much on the car, but I have worked through a list of conservative tweaks, thanks to forum fever (damn you lot!). The best thing I have done was to ditch the runflats - it totally transformed the car.
Cost of ownership: I budgeted £10/day. Check it out:
£9.73! 8)
I can feel myself developing a yearning for either a Z4C or Z4MC (maybe in a year, after the GF and I have conquered home ownership!), but glad I bought a mid-spec 2.5si because it's a cracking car in its own right and roofless motoring has been a bit of a revelation. Thanks to everyone that has helped me or has taken the time to write installation guides, hints & tips etc. This is definitely one of the friendliest and most informative forums on the 'net.

Great write up, impressed with the figures you've kept to collate. The first pic ... the baguette is possibly the best mod I've ever seen. Was it costly? And have what's the pet you have roosting on seat or windscreen?
