1 Series M Coupe

I hope those wheels fit a Z4MC !

345 HP is a bit disappointing IMO. What's the odds they stick the S-Drive 35iS engine in it? Whatever it's output lets hope it sounds like an M should do.

The M3 has 414BHP and starts at £53k. This new 1M should theoretically be a bit like an E46 M3 (6 cylinder, 350BHP, £42k). It can't / doesn't need more....it would clash with it's bigger brother :)

This build-up-the-suspense reveal is starting to annoy me. Show us the damn car! It looks like it has a great stance, I am just concerned the cutesy headlights and styling will stop it from looking aggressive enough.

I thought the 135 was 305bhp, so it aint much more, especially as you can remap a 135 to 330-340 very easily.

It is not just about the power though, the LSD etc makes the M an M.

True, but when the Z4M comes out I doubt it will have 100 hp more then the 35is either.

It looks stunning! Any clues on the cost yet?

Looks like a lot of fun on track:

Guess its a tough one - it has to be better/faster/more powerful and more appealing than a 135i but not too close to the M3, or seen as a bargain M3!

The colour is apparently Valencia Orange and is exclusive to the 1M.

Some reports say it will have an M-DCT gearbox with a manual option following on later. This http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=424637 seems to suggest manual transmission only.

Twitter has gone a bit quiet but I suspect it will be fully revealed sometime soon! :D

Yeah they have made the others all very powerful, so imo limited the market a bit. Fair enough an M car is a lot more focused, but i bet it will be a LOT more money, and for only 40bhp not sure they will do that many of them. Who knows, glad they have done it though!

And the new Z4M will be good! But again it should have the M3 V8 lump hopefully! And that will be good :D

The Z4 what? :? :D

Is it not rumoured the next M3 will drop the V8 and go back to a turbo-ed 6-in-line?

BMW will probably introduce the X1M and X3M before they develop a Z4M - really can't see the point of the X5 and X6M variants myself. :?

Cant see the point of the X3M, well its not that great to begin with

Hope they dont do a turbo M3, as the whole point is the N/A engine i thought :? No nasty turbo's, just raw power

Apparently, all upcoming Ms will be turbos and the current M3 engine is the last one that will be normally aspirated. The new M5 will be a V8 with forced induction, for example. Downsizing is pretty common across the industry now; turbo tech is reliable / smooth enough to allow more power from a smaller engine with lower emissions....

If, and it remains a fairly sizeable IF, BMW do decide to bring out a Z4m I think they will follow a similar process as before. By that I mean introduce it at the mid-life facelift and then they will want to use up the 4-litre V8 engines made for the E92 M3 (which will either be out of production by then or very close to it). I also think if they do bring out the M they will discontinue the S-Drive 35iS model. Prices for a Z4M V8 will be about the same as the current M3.

The Series 1 M could be an amazing car to drive. Looking interesting!

Bit more of the car:
