1 series convert: roof down light is red when pressed?

Couldnt find this in the 1 series forums as they were talking about how their air con smelt funny (?)

When the roof is pressed to go down, a red light appears. Manual says to go into the dealer. The boot doesnt have any switches like ours when our light goes orange. Is it a definate trip to the dealer?
