The BMW 1 M Coupe has been teased to death but is soon to be fully unveiled. One thing we have seen for sure though are the wheels. They're a similar style to the CSL ones and may in fact be the same ones as on the M3 GTS but in silver instead of black.

What do you think? I really like them and i think they'd look great on Z4's, they remind me the ones from the Z4 GT3 and M3 GT2 race cars!

Andy, they should be 19s.

Zed Five, if they were also made by BBS like the ones from the CSL then they're definitely pretty expensive. I mean it looks like the GTS also has them and that thing costs more than 110,000 quid!

to my untrained eye they look like CSL wheels to me

The front ones are more concave than the front CSL ones. The GTS runs 255/35/19 front and 285/30/19 rear, the front tires are as wide as the rear tires of our Z4M's!

Yep, look the nuts, but as you say, BMW have teased the crap out of this launch to the point where it's almost certainly going to be an anticlimax. That said, there is talk among road testers that this could be the drivers' pick of the BMW range.

Back to the wheels, I wonder if BMW will have the same ordering restrictions for these wheels as the CSLs? Wonder if they are currently in the BMW Performance catalogue?

They're definitely not in the current performance range. Either in the printed catalogue or the BMW performance website. Hmm. Very nice.

their 19s and look lovely..... Very wide fitment, the 1M has the best stock ///M car stance ive seen since the CSL with its perfectly fitting csl alloys.

They`re fitted in Silver to the E92 M3 with competition package, part No`s are listed on RealOEM.

You may be right! I somehow forgot the Competition pack M3. I take it these are the wheels you're referring to: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=KG91&mospid=52121&btnr=36_1483&hg=36&fg=15

Take it they fit our cars?

Dont know. I just thought it'd be a cool idea!

I just thought of something else though, the Competition M3 wheels might not really be the same ones as on the GTS. I mean didnt they do the same thing with the CSL and the ZCP (Competition pack US market E46 M3)? They looked identical but the CSL had wider front and different weight if i remember correctly.

Those look much nicer than the CSL's imo

Will be watching if any come up at reasonable money

Yeah that's them. I don't think the GTS wheels will be wider as the competition pack ones are already 9 & 10"'s.

There's a lot of confusion over CS and CSL wheels. The CS fronts are actually slightly lighter due to being 0.5" narrower, rears are identical except for some very early CSL rears which were slightly lighter due to a different internal design (this was changed 'tho due to leaking valve seals). At ~ 24 & 25 lbs tho they're still quite heavy (about the same as OEM 18's) by today's standards.

Nice wheels but hardly a leap forward in BMW wheel design are they? I imagine the conversation in the BMW design department went something like-

New GTS what wheels shall we have? something looks like CSLs :)
New cometition pack M3 er which wheels? Oh CSLs :D
and the new 1M coupe? Let's try CSLs they look good!

Now that you point that out i can actually see the difference. :headbang:
