Hello all,

Just got a 2008 M Roadster. A wash, polish, 2 coats of sealant, a coat of wax and 12 hours later over 4 days and the grime is finally gone.

Cleaned up.
Now if I could just get some decent weather. I live in "Sunny" California. Nothing but rain right now. Oh well. MOre time to work on the interior and figure out what awesome mods you guys have done. The wife says I need a better exhaust. Got to love that.

Looking forward to lots of learning.

Try living in Scotland..

Picked up my ///M on Sat (in the rain)
Cleaned my car on Sun (in the rain)
Drove my car to my mates on Monday (in the torrential rain)
Detailed the interior on Tuesday (in the sleet/cold rain)
Stared longingly at my car on Wednesday (in the SNOW!) :headbang:

Stupid weather

Lovely car btw! :D

Living in California and have a wife that suggests you "need a better exhaust" ? Don't think you're going to get sympathy for it raining sinse you got the car!!! :P

Lovely by the way

Hooray ! Finally a new member with a roadster :driving:

Lovely car, would love to see more pics when you get a chance

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys. Yes, me whining about weather in California is probably not going to get much sympathy.
I have included a couple more shots between storms.

I also have a question. I bought the car as CPO from a BMW dealer out-of-state since none were available in California. I have a brown wire that seems to come from the shifter that is wrapped around the shifter then goes into the boot. 7069725585_8403ba37c4_z.jpg
Is the shifter supposed to be backlit? Is the shifter boot easy to remove and put back? Thanks for any help.

Doug

Welcome Roadster man and wife...she sounds like keeper for encouraging you.

Weird wire....yes, you should get a red glow with the oem gearknob when the car lights are on.

Very nice looking ///M

Mods? Lose the reflector spots on the bumpers & fit a stubby for starters :-)

I will do a search in the forum, but for those recommending a stubby, which one? Source in USA preferably. I still want decent reception including HD broadcasts.

Also recommendations for reflector delete. Point to existing threads is helpful but not required. I will use the search tool to minimize retreading old ground.

Thanks,
Doug
