1.8i turbo

Hi all. Hope you are all ok. Can anyone clear up an argument between a colleague and myself. I have a 1.8i E89. The cover under the bonnet says Bi-turbo, making me think it is a twin turbo. My colleague says it is not twin turbo! Can any one help? :driving:
 
ts a Twin Scroll, 2 exhaust ports point at one part of the Turbo and the other 2 point at another smaller part of the Turbo so in effect you get no Turbo lag so yes you only have the one Turbo... It actually says Twin Power if I recall correctly

Nor is it 1.8 either, it’s a 2.0... :thumbsup:

I think you’re asking a bit much to have dual blowers on a 2.0 fella...! :lol:

You’ll need the 3.0litre 35i or 35is for those, not an option on any other E89 than those two.
 
For proper power you want a super charger and a turbo

Lancia did just that for the group b rally car they where also developing an engine that had the inlet on the right hand side on pot 1 then on the left for pot 2 and so on this was when rallying had few rules and the result was monster cars along with some other problems namely spectators standing in the road to get a better look at a car approaching at high speed

It’d be a fun project throwing one of those screamers in an E89 Buzy....after a shed load of suspension mods of course...don’t want to waste that redline.... :lol: :driving:
