07 Z4MC - what springs?

It is replacing the shocks but with Bilsteins, rather than standard OEM, which are matched to the springs & fine-tuned to complement one other perfectly. Mainly on the recommendation of their most senior mechanic who has a lot of experience setting up cars for road, track & rallying.

As I see it replacing just the springs should be an improvement over the OEM setup, but not as much as replacing the springs, top mounts and the shocks together. You pays your money and takes your choice. :)
 
Sounds like a decent price, when faced with that vs KWV3 at almost 2k fitted. whats the ETA? Looking forward to a write up :P
 
Fitted just the Eibach pro kit springs to mine (30k mileage), and it is a massive improvement. I was tempted by the Bilstein B12 kit, but unsure as to the extra benefits the dampers would deliver. Look forward to the write up in any event.

That's wrong. The front should be lower than the rear to produce a positive rake angle.

Now booked in for the springs, shocks & top mounts to be done on Wednesday and I'll try and take some photos of them getting done. :)

H&R's have more complience than OEM springs... I would like to try the H&R's with the OEM wheels but did wheels and springs at the same time..
 
Hi DLH....

OK so I fitted the Eibachs last week, 25mm drop at the front and just 10mm at the rear, then added a set of 19's for good measure and the ride isnt bone shaking at all, and the handlings great. Sure I could have gone lower at the back but the look is just what I was looking for, slightly more level than the nose-up Rolls Royce style and the handling is great without being too rigid.

I would recommend them. They are a very good quality fit too.
 
Job done! Feels pretty good on the shortish drive home and, hopefully, a nice mod that improves handling.
 
Let us know how it feels over the next few weeks as you get used to it and start to lean on it a bit more! Damn I mighthhaveto follow suit :P

Just being doing some research on the B12 kit for the Z4M. Not much out there, but found this post. Looking at your signature you went ahead with fitting this kit.

I already run Eibachs on my ///M, but my shocks are now on 62k so need replacing. How are you finding the ride quality and handling?

I can get the kit from Germany for approx £540, sell the springs for £150 and you're looking at a cheap upgrade... just want to check it is an upgrade :)

Think you will struggle to sell the Eibachs for £150 though, can get them delivered new for £140.

Prices must have come right down since i bought mine. Where is that from out of interest? Quick googles shows prices nearer £200.
