Hello all,

I can't believe I couldn't find the answer to this but does the 07 Z4 3.0i Premium Package come with heated seats and Xenons? I could have swore it did but now I can't find anything that says it does so now I am doubting myself.

Patrick

Xenons, I think yes. Heated seats, not sure. I will have to dig out the old brochure. I think I have one at work for the 07. Are you in the US? It will make a difference in packages.

Thanks for the quick response. Yes, I am in the US. The car I am looking at is an 07 3.0i with the premium package and 3200 miles. The sales person said it has the premium package but she didn't know if that included xenons.

It will be tomorrow. If I get busy and forget, please drop a PM. I would look at my sticker, but I have the coupe and the 3.0i and 3.0Si had different goodies in the packages.

I've still got the window sticker from my 3.0si Coupe. Heated seats were $500 on top of premium-- US purchase anyway.

That's what I was thinking as well. I have the M seats and iirc, those were on top of the premium package too. There was some difference 3.0i vs 3.0Si on what was option and what was standard.

3.0i Premium Package does NOT include Xenons. They are a separate option.
Heated seats are also a separate option (not part of the Premium Package).

This is what the Premium Package gives you on a 3.0i in the USA:

• Auto-dimming interior and exterior mirrors
• Fully automatic soft top
• BMW Assist with Bluetooth System
• Power front seats with driver seat memory
• Storage package
• Automatic air conditioning
• On-board computer
• Navigation system

Hope this helps. This info comes straight from the 2007 Z4 Brochure. :)

Personally I think all BMW's should come stock with xenon's (and the signature angle eyes). If you can't afford to option a BMW with xenon's, you can't really afford a BMW period.

Just to second the motion, yes, Xenons were part of the premium package (or could be added separately), but heated seats were an added cost option.

What I don't understand is why the power-folding side mirrors were part of the premium package in Canada, but not on US models. Why not just have this be a standard for all territories? I also strikes me as strange that the US premium package (with Xenons) does not include headlamp washers. I am also miffed that piano black was not an option here. I guess that the misguided influence of market demographics.

I'm a little confused by your statement, do you think that Xenons are a part of the premium package or did you have to get the premium package in order to add Xenons? I agree, all BMW's should have Xenon's.....and I would think heated seats...at least with the premium package anyway.

What year did they start Angel Eyes with the Xenons?

Sorry, I didn't mean to confuse. I was simply saying that Xenons were included as part of the premium package.

OR Xenons could have been ordered as a "check the box" item without having the premium package (i.e there may be cars with Xenons but that don't have the premium pack). At least thats how my brochure reads.

Car manufactures get way too into "packaging" items sometimes. It's utterly confusing... "Sport" vs "premium" vs "cold weather" vs "convenience" vs "non-smoking package," etc. And the fact that these packages aren't even consistent from region to region can be maddening.

I agree with you on heated seats. There are some who don't feel the need for them, but I'll not by a car without them. I just like to keep my bottom side toasty.

Cheers.

Yep, same brochure I have. Xenons were part of the premium package on the 3.0Si Coupe.

I just read some where else that the 07 3.0i premium package does not come with Xenons unless you have the si...I wish my sales person could tell me for sure....unless she just wants me to make the trip out there then she will be able to "confirm" that it does not have Xenons.

I would like to thank eveyrone for their time and assistance. I really appreciate it!

Easy enough to tell if you have Xenons--thick projection lenses, big yellow high voltage stickers under the hood and if you turn them on, there is no doubt!

Ok, she said it does not have xenon's but it does have heated seats. I guess I can live with aftermarket Xenons. Is there any certain brand aftermarket HIDs that are highly recommended? I don't want to go cheap but I don't want to spend $1k+ on oems.

Thanks again for all your help!

Patrick

Do a search, several have installed aftermarket. I would make sure they're legal in your state before you start, though, as you wouldn't have the self-leveling capability the OEM ones do. There are also aftermarket brighter halogen bulbs. Again, all that is discussed on those threads. The halogens don't have as sharp a cutoff as xenons either.

The comment re the stickers is correct, but not re the lens. Both use an identical lens to focus the beam just a different cone on the rear to hold the bulb and dip/main mechanism.

There are many other clues to xenon/halogen including the light switch not having the beam adjuster on Xenon as it's automatic using level sensors.

I have halogens, and drive some pretty dark roads here in the UK, and personally I think they are fine on full beam.

With better bulbs in there (ie, good halogens) they will be better still.

On dip they tend to look a bit low, but you can easily adjust them up a turn between official checks...

Xenons are clearly better, but halogens are already 'good'

From what people say, you think you might be missing out... well in a way you are, but they no way are bad standard, or not good enough, just not *as* good :D

A quick click of the search feature should reveal a few leads on the aftermarket HID subject. I know I've seen threads about it with people's experiences and recommendations. I recall there are some decent options. And that's great news, too, on the heated seats.

Where are you located/looking?

Oh, and just be sure to post pics when you get up and rolling!

I live just outside of Harrisburg, Pa or Baltimore, MD depending on what day of the week it is....and I am driving 3.5 hours to NY to pick up the car. The car is silver gray metalic which I don't remember seeing in person before but I am pretty sure I will really like it. I am trading in my 04 Z4 2.5 5-spd because my wife wants an automatic so she can drive.

Thanks for all the help!
