Found myself with a spare hour last weekend, so spent some time looking at this....

No real intention to buy, but just in case anyone has seen this on the net and is planning to visit, thought I'd post my thoughts.

Car bodywork seemed to be pretty straight - although the showroom lights showed up a lot of swirls in the paintwork. Seemed to be all original paintwork and was dent free - although there are stone chips (some touched in) on the front end. Wheels look to be unrestored - pretty clean, but some blooming in the lacquer in a couple of places. All tyres were runflats, front were Bridgestones, back were Pirelli (I think)

Interior was a bit marmite for me - all pale, including door cars, transmission tunnel, carpets etc - beige overload, but wasn't claustrophobic. Had cleaned up ok and didn't smell of smoke etc. Some marking on the MFSW switches, but I guess that is fairly common.

5 owners and seems to have spent all it's life in the Swindon area. Full BMW service history - the service book was in the car.

Warning bell for me was that there was an invoice dated 3rd November from a German car specialist investigating an overheating problem. Head gasket was chemically tested (no issue) and the water pump was replaced. When I asked about it, the dealer said it wasn't work they'd had done so must've been the previous owner - read into that what you will, as I was viewing the car on the 23rd November and it's been there for over a week, so might it have played a role in the previous owners decision to get rid?

I didn't start or drive the car so can't comment on the mechanicals.

I have had no previous dealings with the seller, so can't comment on their service, but seemed friendly enough and weren't pushy. Showroom is tucked away a bit, but as they said to me, most of the interest they get is via the web and not passing trade.

Link not working !

I bought my old z4 coupe from them 4 yeas ago. They were a pleasure to deal with. Got a great price & car was as it stated. Couldn't fault them.

Top link works fine for me. That interior is awful though, doesnt help with the dash being black and the rest beige.

To be fair, it did feel better to sit in than it looks in the pictures. I might be tempted to swap out the gear lever boot and handbrake cover for darker items just to break it up a bit. There was a set of mats in the boot - beige though!

Good to know they're ok to deal with though - they're fairly local to me, so worth knowing when the time comes to change.

Had the exact same issue on mine. Thought it may have been head gasket but turned out it was the electric water pump. Car has been absolutely fine since. I wouldn't worry about it. I did some research at the time and the 3.0 engines don't have head gasket issues, very few reported cases. If you like the car otherwise I wouldn't let it put you off
