'06 Z4MR - Sapphire Black - Nav, HT, Bluetooth

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1840058.htm

£19,000

Feedback also appreciated, some questions which will inevitably arise:

* I'm selling so soon after buying it (3 months) as I simply do not get to drive the car and I know what sitting around on a driveway does to performance cars, especially in the winter. :( I recently took a job in central London and I haev a beater to go to the station and back.
* 2 services were performed by a reputable Indy so it is not FBMWSH, however this was my main motivation for getting Sytner to run a comprehensive health check and everything on the car is in tip top shape!
* There is currently finance outstanding on the car, this isnt something I wanted to advertise but rest assured I will be happy to provide a signed contract guaranteeing that this will be settled as soon as the transaction for sale is complete, unfortunately I do not have the funds available to settle this prior to sale or I would.
* As far as I can see this is the cheapest Z4MR spec for spec with a 'full house' of desirable options if you will so I will not have much if any flexibility on the price (feedback welcome on this)

Anything else i'm happy to answer.

OffdutyRockstar, feedback -

It's pretty leggy at 51k compared to some available, I would work on a dealer car being around £3k more than a private sale. I'd sell the hardtop separately and look for high 17's.

Hi.

Looks great in the photos. Has it been lowered?

I think it's commendable that you've written such a thorough advert, and have been so open with such detail. However, I would try to shorten the advert and reduce the number of things that might put off prospective buyers before they've even viewed the car. A good example of this would be to not mention the nav settings issue. I know that this was battery-related, but if I was a prospective buyer, I might wonder if it was something more serious lurking in the nav computer.

Sometimes too much detail (eg that you are claiming for the pin dent; the tiny nick on one wheel you think may be there; the potential to get 34 mpg; previous issues with selling cars; CCTV, etc) can distract from what is probably a perfectly reasonable deal on a car of it's age and mileage (although perhaps a tad expensive).

I would write a brief description; list the factory optional extras; then any additions you've made (eg recent new battery etc); list the standard specifications; write bullet points for the bits in the last half dozen paragraphs that you want to include.

This is just my opinion of course :)

Lastly, if I were you I'd do everything you can to find the cash to clear the finance before you try to sell.

Good luck!

Oh and no it hasnt been lowered, I had a whole setup of H&R springs, rogue engineering top mounts and OEM front bushes to go on and still sitting boxed and unused, anybody feel free to shout an offer at me for those before I advertise them... and my black front grille kit and my storm moterwerks gearknob!

I have no PM mate.

Im keeping the Storm gearknob actually, I can use it on the Cooper S ill be getting as a daily car. :)

I guess ill reveal the rest of my plan here too, i'll be going halves with my brother on a 355, this way I get to have a riot of an everyday car and fairly regular use of a supercar without having to worry about maintenance and it being parked outside as my brother has a garage and lives 5 minutes away!

I will really miss the M though... Ill give it a few days but im starting to think late 17's and holding on to the HT til the winter to flip it then could be the best course of action, not in any great rush though so ill give it a few days!

Here's some feedbakc for what its worth.

1. The fact you've lost the MOT certificate suggests to a potential buyer someone who may not be taking care of things as well as one might and perhaps a bit careless. I'm sure that's not true, but for the sake fo £50 I'd go and actually get a new MOT put on the car which gives you your certificate and also adds value by selling it with 12 month's on.

2. I could be wrong, but I don't think Shell Helix Ultra have a correct specification oil for the S54, so advertising that it is what you have exclusively used, when it should have been Castrol Edge 0W-60 for M engines, may put an enthuisiast off.

3. I'd lose the bit about CCTV as well. What does it suggest? That you live in a high crime area. Does that mean your car has been damaged and repaired before. Perhaps you're a crim and looking to offload a stolen car (albeit one who writes very eloquently!)? You'll get timewasters phoning up whatever so leave that stuff to when you talk to a prospective buyer rahter than put it in the advert.

If I can chip in also, the Hardtop is not worth £1500 and any buyer will know this item is only worth £1k and often a lot less than that! :)

Does not look good to a buyer putting inflated figures on parts :)

1. I didnt lose it, the last owner did. :( as well as all the documentation which I had to verify and get reissued by BMW, a pain in the ass I know but yes I do agree and ill get the certificate reissued.

2. Shell Helix 5w-40, the owners handbook states this viscocity is fine to use and I purposefully have always used oils with a 5w viscosity for the quicker cold start protection. I actually have a very good friend who works as an engineer for ExxonMobil who I always consult oil viscosities with at great lengths and he recommended it!

3. Its hard for somebody to understand but I genuinely believe that if the person who carjacked one of my family members knew that there was CCTV at our property as there always has been he wouldnt even have bothered to show up! As it is, I just cannot lose that paragraph with what my family has been through for the past year having seen my brother in law very nearly lose his life, I may reword it but it stays because i'd rather a good buyer draw up some biased conclusions then some hoodrat with a knife turn up at my house, especially when dealing with a 2 seater car. :(

Kryton, I saw a Sapphire black hardtop with trolley and stand sell for £1417 on eBay in the middle of winter, when I was looking to buy my car and was initially looking at another example sans hardtop. To forum members and enthusiasts in the know they may well pay even less then £1000 but to your average uninformed eBay hunter it's a realistic albeit top-tier price. Obviously in the middle of summer as we are now examples can be had for significantly less but anything that sells for upwards of £2k from a dealership and varies so wildly in terms of used prices on the used market can and will be subject to the sellers estimation. :)

All feedback very much appreciated by the way, I dont mean to come across defensive in any way!
