03 Z4 2.5 Headlight questions

First off, I am new to the forums here, but I have been looking up information regarding changing my headlights, and have stumbled across a few threads... Just none that answered all of my questions.

Currently I have an 03 Z4 with the 2.5i engine, non-xenon headlights as far as I can tell. Does not appear to have auto-adjustment (lights don't dance at all when you first turn them on).

I'm considering the eBay lights that have been discussed many times before on here:

From what I understand the large plug on the back would be of no need to me, since I do not have auto-leveling headlights.

My questions are as follows:

If I get these and add HIDs to them, would I need to recode my lights?
Will there be any issues if I wire the Halos/LEDs as running lights by going to... Say... The ignition on wire, or parking lights, etc. (They come on as DRLs when the car starts)?

I probably have other questions too, but am drawing a blank right now.

Main reasons for wanting to change the headlights are so I can have Angel Eyes and HIDs with better visibility. (Have not manually adjusted my headlights up yet, which, a I understand, will help with the poor visibility issues I currently have)

As you said, there are LOADS of thread with info on lights and coding etc. off the top of my head Marius on here changed his lights to HIDs and didn't get the canbus ones either and has had no issues with coding etc? I will try and find a thread where he has mentioned it.

Wiring the AE in as driving lights I'm not sure about. Take a look at a 'light comfort module' which allows you to do just this without having to retire things. Pop it in the search and it should be the first one that comes up :thumbsup:
