03 problem door handle

The inside drivers side door handle on my 03 now takes 5-6 pulls to open the door. It seems as though something is not catching until that 5th or 6th attempt. Has anyone else had that problem and what is the cure?

Thanks

Sounds like a stretched Bowden cable. I had the same issue when the car was left in direct sunlight and found a good squirt of WD40 under the handle into the mech worked. Lift the handle and you will see a hole insert straw and spray.

Worth a try

Thats for the outside handle though, the OP is having issues with the inside one.

In answer to the question, yes it is only the inside door handle on the drivers side. Is the problem due to use over time?

Not sure.

I asked as mine has just stopped working (inside and out). It has turned out to be the door lock assembly and not the cables.

Even if scousefly had the wrong handle in mind, I do think the issue is the bowden cable or one of the associated plastic bits. Accessing the door internals to investigate is the only course of action.
