0-62 re-map time?

Hi all, anyone know the official 0-62 time for my 28i '15 plate manual and what I could expect from a Stage 1 re-map? Thanks :)

Here you go https://www.parkers.co.uk/bmw/z4/roadster-2009/28i-sdrive-2d/specs/
Depends who does the map, what are they claiming for it? It will shave a little off

That’s a 0-60 time not a 0-62 time...obviously a bit slower..

You can get an app (iOS) called Trackstats.
Its free, you simply start the app, pop it on your passenger seat and the accelerometers detect your 'launch' (love that expression) and combined with GPS will give you a pretty accurate 0-60 etc.
Do 3 or 4 runs and then take the average.

AND DONT GET NICKED

Tested 0-60/62 times don’t really mean a lot. You won’t get anywhere near it on the road and acceleration from zero isn’t really that important anyway. Acceleration through the gears is where it really is at. If you can shave a bit of time off the 30-50 or 50-80;times, that is a change you will really feel! 0-60 times is only for bragging rights at the pub.

I agree. I was out for nearly half an hour today and only managed to get to 53. :driving:

Lazza what you have said is exactly where I have noticed the massive improvement in performance after having my car remapped👍

And that’s all that matters in reality.
I have a 2001 MX5 in the garage that used to be supercharged with 250bhp. In a straight drag race, it was faster than my standard 35i off the line. On a drag strip it managed 0-60 in 4.6 seconds and just pipped under 14 seconds 1/4 mile. So while it got going a lot quicker (lighter, shorter gearing and LSD), the torque of the 3L twin turbo meant the Z was quicker overall. On the road the Z just feels quicker everywhere. The 5 needed to the thrashed to get to the power whereas the Z just has bags of torque whatever the revs.
So yes, I could say that my MX5 was “faster” than my 35i but that would only be true for one measurement.

Having said all that - I really miss thrashing a 4 pot 1.8 with a big supercharger through the gears with it’s big bore exhaust and cone filter. Pure joy on a B road. :driving:
Tiring as a daily and a bit of a chore on a motorway though. :headbang:

its simply a benchmark, we all know its not realistic and never go around doing it. But as a direct comparison of overall performance power, gearchange speed, traction etc its a great general comparison.
