0-60

What's the 0-60 of the new Z4 (the quickest standard one available) and what spec is this one, thanks in advance

Man, you guys are obsessive about 0-60....

BMW is notoriously conservative in their published times and the auto mags haven't gotten their hands on it yet. :driving:

I read in one of the brochure that the sDrive 35i with a DCT can do a 0-60 in 5 seconds flat, that's 5.0 for those who don't habla (using a Clint Eastwood voice). :D

I'd rather

a a car that will do 0-60 in 4 seconds with a top speed of 70mph than

b a car that will do 0-60 in 6 seconds with a top speed of 200mph

I get more of rush accelerating than doing top speed... actually it would be very interesting to compare a & b with other users, i'l make a poll and post it in the general section

Make sure you include an option for 4 secs and 200 mph which I suspect might be popular :D

Yep the Z4 sDrive 35i with 'DKG' sprints in 5,1s (0 to 100 km/h). Actually it is the same as a new M3 convertible with dkg!! (and that one has 420 hp....)
It's a pitty that BMW hasn't put the latest version from the 35i engine in the car, producing 326 hp. It's the engine from the 7-series. But I geuss that the problem would be that the Z4 would be faster then the M3 convertible which is very difficult to explain to the customers....

You gotta get the aftermarket overthrusters for that kind of performance.

Or that Corvette on the other thread (0-60 in ONE second)!!!!!!!!!

You get more excitement by rushing away from a standstill? I think it`s overrated  . Personally for me, a 20-90mph performance I would rate much better than crappy traffic light racing times (0-60). I once had a car that was only 6.7secs 0-60 time but 2nd through to fourth gears it was as fast as other cars that had a much lower 0-60 time. Main reason it was slower 0-60 was a long first gear that made it great for track use but starting from a stopped position was a little slower but so what, once your moving, 0-60 times means pretty much zilch.

Some of those hot Volvos and Saabs, crap 0-60 times but can give you a nasty shock if you underestimate them
