Let's start planning for Zfest '09

Let's see what they got.........

I have a few theories, based on how BMW worded a few things, that homecoming may have a second life in the future.....maybe just my own addled mind working, though. (I take classes as a "benefit" of working at UNC-right now working through Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics so the grey matter is a bit fried :D )

Thanks for the link Mark, that was a great find! I am signed up!

On a sadder note: ROADCAR was attacked by a trailer hitch powered by a SUV this afternoon, while I was stoped! The passenger side headlight will be new, the hood will be freshly painted and the bumper will be repainted too. In addition I suspect it did something to my allignment so that will be investigated. State Farm, her insurance, is paying for everything and I found a shop that only handles high ends cars and since my car is priceless to me, that is where it is going. I am assured they will have it looking perfect. What's not to like about that~ Funny that I can drive 5,000 miles, through the end of a hurrican and sustain no damage or have any problem with my car, until a trailer hitch did me in!

Watch out for SUV's and especially those with trailer hitches!

I saw this on roadfly:

I am Chris Cane ane my wife is Cheryl Cane. I am the webmeister and vice president of the ZSCCA. We all know that Homecoming 2008 was to be the last and during several ZSCCA board meetings over the last few months we discussed what we might do to continue/replace homecoming. We knew that the job would be impossible as we don't have a factory or performance center to for a focus.

First we hunted for a name and ultimately we came up with ZFEST. It's kind of catchy and I was able to negotiate with a college grad who had registered the name http://www.zfest.com for his fraternity. The guy who owned the domain was great to work with and now the ZSCCA owns http://www.zfest.com.

The basic plan looking forward is to move ZFEST around the country. Cincinnati became the choice for ZFEST ONE or ZFEST 2009 because an idiot (me) put up my hand and said we that I'd give it a shot. The other board members quickly agreed, I wonder why?

The http://www.zfest.com website now is really just a placeholder and signup form. We hope to make the full site online by early October. There is much work to do and we welcome any suggestions and help.

ZFEST will be open to all Z Owners. We are not limiting it to ZSCCA only. Of course we do hope that this becomes a catalyst to increase our membership.

To get on the ZFEST Email List s you'll know what's going on, you can sign up at PRE-REGISTER. We will be opening registration/pre-registration soon so we can get a feel for how many folks will attend.
