No - never. It would be considered a warning to other Z4 drivers and open to misinterpretation by other drivers.

for the same reason we all seem to chat on here, we have the same car. Chatting on line is the same as acknowledging others on the road??!!
Here flashing the lights normally is used to tell the other driver that their headlights are not on when they should be. I try to wave at other Zed owners rather than flash. There are places where you may get shot for flashing at someone, so I make it a practice not to do it at all. 
i was only meaning an acknowledgement of some sort, flash, ave etc, i know flashing can mean many things- hello, letting out, thnank you, careful police ahead etc- just wondered if there may have been some comoraderie between z drivers.
I don't bother waving at other Z4 drivers much anymore. Living in the city that leads the USA in most millionaires per capita, BMW's/Z4's are like Honda's here. Most Z4 drivers here are non-enthusiasts who will probably jump straight to a 3/5series as soon as their leases are up and they give you the WTF look when you try to wave at them. The only time I wave is when I see a nicely and tastefully modified Z4 or BMW, or even just a performance/sports car.
Speaking of bumping into Z4's in the streets, over the weekend I met an '05 3.0i on the freeway that ferociously tried to get me to race - honking 3 times, kept lining up with me and gunning it. :rofl: Didn't bite. Gas costs too much for me to waste on street racing; gotta save up for a new set of 18" BBS RGR's.

i waved to other Wrangler drivers when i was driving one... Its a jeep thing, you wouldn't understand

My tint is just dark enough that it's hard for others to really notice a wave unless you really take your eyes off the road... which is dangerous in itself.

Pretty much spot on. Wrangler drivers (inc. me) wave and or flash others almost without fail in the UK. The old series Landrover guys do the same but I know of no other makes that do this aside obviously very rare or collectables where meetings are rare.
