Inside out?

Hiya,

when cleaning the car, do you start with the interior first or the exterior? I think it might be better to do the interior first so you don't scuff up the bodywork trying to get hoover etc into the nooks etc?
Any opinions much appreciated!

Personally I do outside first. I can see your logic though, do the inside and door sills etc before doing the outside.

Mainly I do the outside first because I am generally so knackered afterwards I can't be arsed to do the insides and do it another day

Hmm good point; but then it'd be like doing a half-job; I think I'll do a quick hoover and dust; then wheels and the bodywork and break out my first wax / polish. :)

Another for washing and drying the outside first (after the wheels), then door shuts, interior, boot....and finally a wipe around the engine. Then it's back to wax the exterior....

Hmm..

1. Inside
2. Wheels
3. Roof*
4. Body

* Anyone clean the inside of the roof??

Although I am intending to try hand waxing and polishing for the first time…do you need to wait in between? If so; then I might to the inside then?

This

I think the last time I did the interior of mine was September

Inside and the. Out. My logic is tat I don't really want the Hoover and my feet etc being dragged through any standing water and into the car.

outside and engine first (and wheels if not taking off)

Bring the car inside to polish, and to remove wheels if needed.

Then interior (inc roof)

Then dress the engine, wheels, bodywork

Then bath and beer

How do I clean the engine? Damp cloth?
And I was planning wheels before body but then the body water might drip onto wheels??

I use some APC (all purpose cleaner) and a brush...

Light spray of water from the jet wash, keep the power washer moving and not too close to the engine, then once done, mop up any patches of water, and start the engine to help dry.

End up with something like this:

Ashamed to say this... But i only clean the inside maybe 3 times a year!

It never really gets dirty. In summer much more as the roof goes down.

The outside gets a clean maybe monthly.

Wow that looks amazing.
Sadly my bonnet latch is rusted shut ATM I think so I can't open it yet.
Just started with the roof and wheels and I'm already too cold.

I can't recall when I last did the inside, but if I was to do both I would do inside first

I also use APC all purpose cleaner but then finish off with a light dressing of Chemical Guys Silk Shine Dressing :D
