270 bhp in a little Mx-5 , i was looking for one of the originals when i decided on my first Zed. could be a future cult classic if they've got it right. i pulled out of looking for a Mk1 as i found out that the turbo can no longer be replaced - i.e. when its gone its gone.

100 being made 0-60 in 4.9 seconds for sub 30k .

They are stating 300bhp might be possible...hmm nothing has come up for a while thats made me look past the M but Id like to try one of those

still prefer the looks of the z over that..... and it still looks feminine to me

the extra power should make it fun though

For sub 30K that's impressive.

Great car the MX5 - I believe the engine was originally designed to have a turbo so should be strong enough though the brake update would be reassuring.

American law influence on the front design of the car gets worse but who cares when you're sat in it. a very interesting proposition.

:driving:

I looked at and drove a supercharged MX5 before I settled on the Z4M. My biggest concern was the limited room in the footwell - it was very tight and the peddles so close together the peddle operation was hampered. These were my size 12s. Those who have a more delicate build may not find this an issue.
Go have a try and see if you fit.

Review on PH now - http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=29075

Once I've had a couple of summers out of the ///M I think I'll find a donor MX5 and go for the 300bhp kit. Would have to be a 2.0 Sport Tech convertible, not the coupe as they're 80kg heavier.

Perfect stance!

I'd LOVE to have a go in one. Near 300hp in a car as small as that must be a riot on the road and a blast on the track! Used Mk3 one and the kit retro-fitted is definitely the way to go.
