LED Replacement for interior light

Am upgrading the interior lights to LED, changed the map reading lights no problem but the actual interior (dome) light was impossible as the hole for the bulb is slightly too small for the LED replacement, does anyone know of a suitable replacement bulb please

Thanks

it will fit mate...take the whole unit out of the ceiling (quite easy as it clips in) then unplug it... there is a screw inside, after you unscrew that you can feed the bulb in from the other side

(the screw is holding the front clear plastic in place)

I'll try that when some more bulbs arrive, thanks

im sure I used these

As an alternative
Just take a small file to the circumference of the circuit board that the LED's are mounted on (taking care not to damage the LEDs or connectivity) and reduce the diameter slightly.
Its only like a bakerlite material and files very easily with no issues.
I had no issues with non canbus on side lights or interior lights or fogs but mine is an 2003 E85

I dont think I can file down the bulbs I have as there are 4 LEDs on the face and I think I would damage the bulb if I tried.

I have changed fog lights, sidelights, interior footwell and map reading lights, and the boot light with no canbus issues but i have always ordered the lights which state they dont give canbus errors.

I have found the iphone pry tools ideal for removing the light fittings

They are the similar to the ones I fitted (clearly not identical) and It doesnt take much reduction in size. Alternately do as 'night yard' says make the hole bigger?

Bimmian.com is way too expensive since multiple SMDs are so cheap on the market.

Most multiple-SMD units will fit, but - as Nightyard has said - you have to remove the console and unscrew the cover. Then you'll be able to insert the LED bulb with its back end. It all takes five minutes at the most.

Waited on a reasonable day to mess with the car, solved the issue of the dome light.

Followed nightyards advice and remove the clear front lens, just two screws and used a triangular file to open out the opening for the bulb until the bulb would go through and no further problems and no issue for replacement in the future!

Will post a further photo after dark that was full daylight.
