interior retrim

Hi all,

Has anyone had the centre console and dash front retrimmed in carbon leather?

I sold the Z4C on Saturday and picked up a Z4MC on Sunday and it has the piano dash finish which I'm not too keen on. On the plus side it does have the extended leather which is a nice touch!

Search will I think show several threads of people who have retrimmed in carbon effect. Oh and pics please of your new Zed :D

I don't believe anybody has re trimmed in Carbon Leather, only Carbon Film.

Guisley I believe did re trim in leather though, but it will cost you half a hide plus the fitting cost whatever that is.

I remember looking into this a whole as you can get carbon leather it it's expensive to buy the hide. The question I could not get an answer for at the time was whether carbon leather trimmed co Silesia are simply the std part wrapped or a slightly thinner plastic base so there is room for the leather- I.e. you don't end up with a panel thats too thick.

Thanks for the replies. Tries doing a search but could only find threads on people wrapping in carbon affect, not carbon leather. Will get some pictures up once I've given the car a good detail!

sure guisely as just done it

i would suggest try to buy a alumin dash and re trim that, sell the piano dash and get some money back

I asked if anyone had experience with the carbon cloth, however the thread was so old that nobody replied as to its quality. I'd love to wrap my stuff but using actual carbon fiber and resin is just too hard without vacuum wrapping (I tried.... it didn't work out well at all).

They are correct Guiseley has had the centre console wrapped on my car using a company called A S Pickering based in Bradford. It's not carbon leather, but I know they can get genuine BMW leather as they also repaired Guiseley's seat. Do you just want to do the dash? I am supposed to be going back in the next couple of weeks to get my Alu dash covered, so I can find out how much for you.

All true - the parts are the same Alu dash just wrapped (checked part numbers on the rear of an oem leather dash).

Centre console is a job to remove though - 2 hour job as all trim between seats needs to come out.

Guisely, that looks great. How much did it cost if you don't mind me asking? PM if you would rather not say on here. I'm presuming this was done by the same place jared is recommending?

From memory the aluminium dash has a thin aluminium seperate layer meaning they all use the same core. Your only real issue will be the edges where the stereo and light stitches are, but the leather isn't that thick so hopefully enough clearance.

It cost just under £70, but that was using some leather they already had in stock. Pickerings were concerned that it wouldn't fit but it was ok just tight. I currently have a genuine BMW leather dash on loan from a very generous forum member and looking on the back the part number is the same as on the Alu dash

That's a great price. What are the details of the company that done it?

A S Pickering of Bradford - google it or search in the forum as I've posted about them before.

NB price was for centre piece only.

Can you confirm my thought that the brushed Ali one has an additional layer.
