came on red on the way to work,

all tyres are fine , pressures all ok..

anyone any idea? as im doind a massive journey next week and i dont really want any warning lights on lol

I had the same thing happen to me about a fortnight ago. All pressures were fine and no problems since.
I did post on here about it and someone suggested it can activate if you hit a pothole or something similar.

I did hit some debris in the road but i didnt think it was enough to effect anything.

it doesnt have the run flats on so how do i reset the system? hopeing it will just mend its self lol

Just press the reset button and hold it for a few seconds. It will reset. If it comes back on again then either one tyre (on the same axle) is a different pressure or you have a system fault.

Check your owners manual to be certain. If I remember correctly, it's ignition on (without starting engine), press the button a few seconds, start engine then drive for awhile and it will reset itself.

annoying systems for stupid people that cant tell when a tyres flat lol

Nope. Annoying system for stupid people that want the government to keep them safe. It's mandated on new cars here, iirc. At least you have the system that works off the ABS and can use tire goo. I have the in-tire TPM so no way to do a temporary fix. Upside is it will give a warning without having to move the car.

just to let you know, reset and no problems!

all good in the hood. the debris in the road must have knocked the sensor or something

thanks for the info

Not really this can give you advance warning of a problem before a potential catastrophic failure.

cant say ive even not realiesed ive had a flat tyre and im a girl... but well some people are painfully stupid when it comes to even the most basic things.. so i guess

With the runflats fitted, you wouldn't tell by looking at the tyre that you've had a puncture,it'd look fine, just no air in the thing!! That's why they have the sensors fitted. With normal tyres you'll clearly know when you've got a flat.I've had my tyre sensors go red a few times when there's nothing wrong with the tyre pressures,it just gives you a bit of a scare when on the motorway for example.

On the console near the roof button, there is one with an image of a tyre on it,press that for a few seconds and the light will go to yellow then off if there is no problem. You'll get false alarms fairly regularly,it's part of BMW ownership. Not just Zed's ,they all do it.

Sometimes a bit difficult to feel a deflating tyre with runflats! :D but my warning light also comes on for no apparent reason - I suppose better safe than sorry!

Had this come on while I was on the way home from France. Small panic as I'd had another problem with the car (well more the 'owner' being a total dilbert, but I digress...).

I used to own a Mini Cooper S and that had runflats too. Had the same thing happen on that a couple of times (probably exactly the same system). Quick reset and all was fine.

just to update, i have a slow puncture on one of my tyres and thats what was bringing it on, really should get that sorted lol

Thank god I read this post, my light came on whilst I was driving up the M40. When I got back I checked all the pressures and they were fine. So I’ve reset it. Know the is no more. Thank you :driving:
