My mate built a V8 MGB roadster when we were in our late teens/ early twenties, heritage shell the lot, in Tartan red (your picture reminded me of it)... he eventually sold it as it just sat in the garage. We were discussing it the other day and now that he's taking early retirement he would like to track the car down and maybe buy it back. I've done an MOT search on it and its not been on the road under its original number plate since 2009 (either it has a new reg / or gone to the big MGB dismantlers in the sky... I doubt it as it only 3k on the clock). I was thinking about putting some feelers out on a couple of MGB forums?

if he has a photo try the Google image search? it basically image matches - obvs not the easiest if it looked standard but you can zoom in and pick details out.
May be worth trying the mgb forums to see of anyone knows any info about it there are several on facebook also

My last bicycle cost me £30. Then I got a car (and M/C) licence so it was redundant anyway.
But is it mad if so far this year I've ridden over 5,000 miles and sat on it for 250hours??

The canyon is sick! Would love one of these! I was at sea otter this year and canyon had a limited run of 46 bikes that were 46k each and you got a ride with the US Olympic team as part of the purchase

At car shows this summer I saw a few MGB owners having a snooze on their camping chairs behind their PNJs.
Too many fish paste sandwiches (on white bread of course) in their picnics.
They do like an encampment.Probably grumpy that you woke them up from their afternoon nap.

I've been to plenty of classic car shows and the MG brigade do like their flags, gazebos and deckchairs.
