I’m lurking and looking for a Z still and can’t decide on a basic spec or an M , I usually get carried away with these things !
A £10k M roadster has popped up on eBay that looks a very expensive refurb for someone or possibly a good risk . The seller has said the body work needs attention but the seats have seem better days and the mot history isn’t much better

Just do some detailed research because an M is going to cost you way more to run than any other Z4. I ran 3.0Si for over 5 years so when I bought my M six years ago I knew exactly what I was committing to.
I think you might be better off spending a bit more on a better example in the first place. There is no mention of the rod bearing shells having been replaced, and getting those done will be a 4 figure bill even at a good Indy. If it needs an Inspection Service that is the thick end of another grand. Front discs and pads cost me £600 + VAT supplied and fitted in 2024. And it goes on from there!
And anyway I wouldn't want black with black.

I have no intention of getting that one, way too much work for me and beyond my knowledge to diy most of it .
I do work next door to a garage and can go under the ramps to have a look when they’ve been fixing my existing cars which helps a bit .
I’ve been looking for quite a few months but all the good forum cars have been too far away - my wife has said we are a one in one out system as I have a few cars already. Might be able to convince her for the right car .
The reading / advice on here has been invaluable so far
