///M Cruise Control - Myths & Legends Busted - Retrofit DIY HOW TO!!

Underneath the heater controls is a panel. Lever it out with a plastic trim tool. Probably easier than removing the radio.

Tbh you want the footwell trims out. There is acres of space to pass a wire through then. As above I think you want the glove box out.

To route into the engine bay tie a nut or similar to some string and drop it down into the footwell via the electronics box. Tape the wire to it and pull back through.

All sorted, thanks everyone for your help! Just went out for a run and cruise is working. Not sure why BMW made the stalk work differently from every other cruise stalk out there, but I figured it out :driving:

Btw, I found this image on google's cache which helped a lot when finding the right wire to connect to in the ECU box:

Did mine today- great guidance from this thread

Positaps very easy to use

Happy I now have cruise working!

As this is the go to thread for the cruise retrofit in the ///M - here's my additions.

Mine is fitted and working. I wanted a factory install and no spliced wires.

Therefore, after much searching and confusion, including incorrect wiring diagrams for the ///M, I found that on a factory car the power is supplied from pin 7 of connector X11005 on the back of the fuse box. This takes it's supply from fuse 21.
The ground can be grounded in the ground block next to the fuse block as well.

For the Z4M, as has been explained before, the engine harness is already wired for cruise, but the connector that comes from the cabin is not populated with a wire. Therefore, for a factory install, you just need to add the wire from the cruise stalk with a male pin, part (BMW Pin-Contact ELO-Power 2,8 x 0,63 0,35-0,5m² 61138373293) to connector X102 in the ECU box. Super simple and not a single wire spliced.

Picture shows the missing wire out of connector X102.

Do you still have these pictures anywhere? I have the wires and want to do this myself but I'm a little hesitant without photos
