Roof not opening

Morning all, the roof module arrived this morning and when installed i had the following fault codes, I reset all these and pressed the button to open the roof. All the windows went down and that was it, everything stopped. The close button wouldn't shut the windows back up so had to use the buttons on the drivers door. The boot now soft closes etc but the roof still stays shut, the only fault showing is the A670 fogging fault...any ideas? Am I totally screwed again? The roof motor felt pretty warm when I checked.

Big thank you for all the advice given on this issue and it is great to be a member of this fantastic site. I am learning a lot about Z4s and hopefully one day will be able to support and contribute to others from what I am picking up as I go along.

Roof is working fine but I ran a diagnostic and it came up with the issues below, cleared everything and opened and closed the roof a few times and no more faults showing....I supposes its best just to monitor over the next few days

If you have cycled the roof a few times it will bong and stop you using it.

It says something about it in the manual.

It gets too hot - it’s probably just that.

I opened and closed it 3 or 4 times just to make sure it was ok then went out for a quick drive, closed it and checked about 2 hours later and the faults were there..the car is parked in direct sunshine and is pretty hot. I'm trying not to panic, once I cleared the faults and opened and closed the roof again it didn't flag anymore faults up...the roof motor was replaced and relocated about 2 years ago...all looks ok

Checked the car this morning and no error for the roof other than a A670 fog fault as above, opened the roof and closed it again, rechecked and no faults showing so hopefully this is all sorted.....just the valvetronic gasket to change now..

That is a typical fault code when the hydraulic pump was lying in water for a very long period.

The temp sensor on the PCB inside of the motor gets damaged by water and the CTM moans an overheated hydraulic pump.

In rare cases this tiny 3mm part can be renewed. The much simpler but more expensive way is to get the pumps motor replaced by a part in perfect condition from another E89, an Audi A5 2.gen, a Renault Megane 3.

Hi, i wouldn't have known this code was there as it doesn't seem to be causing any issues, the roof motor is pretty new and enclosed as per the photo. There is no water around it or the battery.
The roof module flooded and parking sensor module flooded about 6 months ago.
