2006 E85 Z4 3.0i, manual, US spec. N52 with MSV70 DME. Just installed a 3.0si 3-stage intake manifold with both DISA valves. Planned to flash the BimmerLabs 30i to 30si tune as the next step.
Hardware setup confirmed working. INPA, NCS Expert, Tool32, WinKFP all installed and connected via K+DCAN cable. Successfully registered a new AGM battery using Tool32 (steuern_batterietausch_registrieren) before attempting the flash. New battery, charger on, doors closed, key in position 2, ignition fuse pulled.
Ran the BimmerLabs RSA delete batch file. Got SECURITY_ACCESS_DENIED__SECURITY_ACCESS_REQUESTED and Flash download failed errors. DME unchanged, car still runs (with the manifold mismatch).
Verified DME via INPA F2 Ident:
- Data reference: 0049PP0L 901S 0YC2S
- Hardware reference: 004 9PP0
- Production date: 17.01.2006
BimmerLabs supported DME list only includes 0049PP0L921S for MSV70. My DME is 0049PP0L901S. From what I've read, the RSA exploit is keyed to specific software versions and 921S exploit won't unlock 901S security.
A few questions:
1. Has anyone with a 901S MSV70 successfully done the 30i to 30si conversion? If so, which files / which provider?
2. Is there a way to update the DME software from 901S to 921S via ISTA (dealer flash) so the BimmerLabs files would work? Anyone done this and confirmed the end software version?
3. Any other tuners that specifically support 0049PP0L901S?
Not looking to revert the manifold if avoidable. Car is currently driving but I'd like to get the tune sorted in the next week or two.
