No, mids you have to 3d print mount, bass goes in the hole but still needs 3d mount, second option is that just put it in plase, ad washers and secure in place with original screws. tweeters need litlebit Dremel and hot glue...sorry I dont have any pictures. I will take if I remove door panel again.

And if you are in hurry, do some googling, in this forum you can find 3d print models and in youtude you can find how to secure bass. I will take photo how it managed secure tweeter. With tweeter youl need, Dremel, milling cutter for it, hot glue, assembling beer and steady hand.

Today project, new relays for GM5 box. The magician surprised himself, the symptom disappeared. The passenger door knob wouldn't lift when I unlocked it with the remote. Now it does and everything works as it should. I must admit, I didn't solder them myself, but a professional did.

Fitted Bluebus. Very impressed with it. I followed the guide on their website (the very last video on the installation page) and it went very smoothly.......until I broke one of the clips for the B-Post trim

When I ordered the unit, I got the 54 pin adapter for the phone. This is unused, so I'll give it away for free (except postage) if anyone wants it.

@JonVR46 Thanks for the pics, I have to install mine when I get the car back from storage.
I could make use of the 54 pin adapter and will be more than happy to cover the postage to a mate in the UK. Let me know.

Roof was requiring a whack to get it to go down, cleaned a layer of sticky stuff (pollen?) off the top of the windscreen and now it works fine again. Must remember to clean it more often, car is usually driven with roof down so it will get dirty again!

Also applied gummi-pflege to all the rubbers around the doors/roof. (And treated the StreetKA to the same whilst I was out there enjoying the sun.)

Speedo going crazy, array of dash lights on, kangarooing down the road. Seemed so bad....scanner said left rear abs sensor fault. New Bosch one on today....all sorted. If only all probs were so easily sorted!

Primed the rear of the chassis, following a load of cleaning and rust scab removal. Thankfully nothing structural, just a couple of scabs from years of stone chips etc

My latest new to me toy arrived on Friday. A bargain 3.0i. eml light, airbag light and 2 flat front tyres with circa 330 days MOT. CAT free, parking sensors, powerfold mirrors, premium audio, heated electric standard red leather seats.
Inflated one tyre and fixed a replacement front wheel as the other tyre wouldn't inflate.
Taxes and insured, took it for a spin do get half a tank of 99.
Cleared all faults other than the airbag. Half a mile from home it threw a Xmas tree. Scanner said front right wheel speed sensor.
Jack out, wheel off, speed sensor removed. Stuffed a small wire brush in and spun the disc to clean the ring, refitted a used sensor and sorted that fault. Replaced the bonnet struts with some stock items. Checked the oil level and took the cap off. Cleaned with brake cleaner and with the same rag, cleaned out the fill hole too. Suspect condensation through it being sat a while, will monitor.

Having changed the passenger seat belt buckle assembly, pyro, wires and yellow connector block on Friday evening, the fault to ground remained, I found I had a bilaterally compatible SBSL, disconnected the battery, swapped in the SBSL, put everything back to rights, cleared all faults and bingo. All dash lights cleared. No warnings no nothing.
Just to replace a suspicious rocker cover gasket now as I get smoke coming off the rear of the manifold so suspect a bit of a drip. Also have a squeaky steering, clearly coming from the top of the column area.

Many thanks to @GenZed @enuff_zed and @Street for always being my go to people for advice, irreverent chat and insight, opinion and instruction, long before I joined on here.

An early morning jaunt to Stockport saw the acquisition of a hard top.
Looks good on my silver chariot but it's ultimate destination was for the Dark Knight.
The roof is in keeping with the car insomuch that's it's finish is as rough as the cars.
To further complete the look were aiming for on a budget, we will be retaining the amber on all indicators, we will be swapping in the lights off the 2.5 with the black internals as they are also halogens. We'll be fitting the black and white BMW badges. Steering, bumper and boot badges are from my stock, I will source centre caps off eBay.

Can anyone point me in the direction of wing mounted indicator logos please.

We'll also be converting the light grey interior to black, fitting black msport seats and a m sport MFSW as mentioned in a previous post.

Wheel will need to be refurbished.

I managed to fit the BlueMusic bluetooth adapter yesterday during my lunch break. It was a little bit fiddly getting all the little bits of trim out of the way to access the back of the CD changer and I've definitely got a couple of sore fingers today as a result! I do have a trim removal kit but couldn't find it anywhere but I would recommend anyone attempting this job to get such a kit. Luckily I didn't break anything and everything clicked back in OK afterwards.

I couldn't get it to work initially then realised both sets of connectors need to be connected, not just the big 6 pin plug. Once both were connected, it worked a treat! As soon as I switched the ignition on it appeared in my phone's bluetooth list and connected immediately.

I had one of those cheapy Ugreen bluetooth adapters from Amazon that plugs into your aux input but I never really liked it. The sound quality wasn't great, it needed to be charged for 10 mins before you could connect your phone to it, and it kind of looked rubbish dangling in front of the ash tray.

The sound quality is noticeably better with the BlueMusic adapter and I followed ChatGPT's advice on making a couple of subtle tweaks to the fade and balance. Really happy with this solution now. You can go forwards and backwards to the next or previous track using the steering wheel buttons, which is handy.

I also fitted the microphone too so that you can do voice calls and threaded the wire up behind the driver's seat. It's not a perfect place to put it but I didn't want to remove any pillar trim (as I didn't have time) and figured it would still pick up your voice from behind the seat. Though I haven't tested doing voice calls with it yet.

Some small jobs completed for me, mainly front end refresh. Headlight restoration, painted the front bars behind the grill, new headlight bolts, new bumper mount trim, new number plates and started to fit the Popular Brown wood interior trim.

I've been hoarding a set of not-perfect-but-solid 107s, considering putting them on for summer. However the tyres whilst very legal, are very rotted and cracked, so I'd have to spend out on a new set. Decided to test-fit one side to decide if I like them.2026-04-18 13.25.10.jpg
