I've been looking for the right car for a while now. I'm 22, work in F1 and obsessed with this car and the idea of looking after one. Please do reach out if you're selling!

Welcome to the forum and good luck finding the right Z4.

If it helps you need to have made 5 posts before you can send a Direct Message, but I'm pretty sure there is no minimum threshold to receive them.

Thank you for the help!

Look at insurance quotes before you commit, when we bought my sons the logic made no sense and it was cheaper for him to insure a 3.0 or even an Alpina over the smaller engined cars. Also drive an auto before you dismiss them, Good luck, buy the right car and you wont regret it.

Generally these cars are quite cheap to insure, even for younger folk. My 19 year old insured his 2.5i for less than a grand, whereas it would have cost him more that twice that to insure a basic fiesta. Costs tumble rapidly as you get a bit older. In my experience there isn’t much insurance difference between 2.2/2.5 cars and 3.0 cars, but the capital outlay for a 3.0 would be significantly more for equivalent mileage and condition.

I like autos, particularly in the larger engine formats.

OP is right to look at 6-cyl cars over 4-cyl cars, because that’s what makes them an essentially different car to, say, an MX-5.
