Winter workhorse + Health update

Update:
Hospital visit this morning.
Good news: Dr. Very happy, seems i have responded extremly well to round 1 of Theraphy
Bad news: Dr. not going to tone down the doseage for round 2. So another full on wallop of meds next week :|

[ref]Mr Tidy[/ref], Re the DPF. Squeezing in as many trips out as possible.
EG. Need to do a supplies run for 2 weeks worth in readyness for a 2 week lock down. Will go the long way round.
Monday and Wednesday have 2 x 30 mile round trips to the Hospital. These enough for a regen' you mentioned ? :?
Have also offered to the guy's at work to use if they require.

New Bosch windscreen wiper's fitted front and back. £20 the set, best upgrade ever.

Having a look / check under the bonnet, noticed this, am sure its air intake. Man handled it but does not budge. Will need securing properly.

Still very clean inside, does not look used.

Sorry for the ramble, but i am bored :D

Ohhh just noticed in the photo. Passenger has a cup holder

Don't open it unless you want to hear it rattle from that moment onwards

I opened mine to clean it and now it rattles and creaks.

Good about the hospital update though, at least if you have gone through the pain it is good to hear it had the desired result

Hi Sean,

Good to hear that you are responding to therapy .
I went to the dentist today for the first time in 10 years due to toothache over xmas and new year and they have been having an awareness of mouth cancer including charity runs etc . Would you mind sharing how you came to be diagnosed as this may help other people including myself if they have similar symptons .

Thank you . Tony .

Hi Tony,

My route to diagnosis has not been typical so rather not divulge here, as may cause distress or anger

The typical would be a smal lump in the neck under the jaw. Followed by difficulty swallowing, a change in voice, head and ear aches.

Rhod Gilbert's recent program explain's it well. His was caused by HPV, a virus, mine was not and different so again not typical.

Have PM'd you my phone number, more than welcome to call for my experience so far

That's mixed news then - I hope Round 2 goes well for you.

I don't really know how many miles it takes for a DPF Regen as the only car I've had with a DPF was doing 14,000 miles a year with plenty of 100+ mile trips on Motorways! But hopefully 30 mile round trips will do the trick!

I had watched the program when it was on, I almost hoped you had not seen it as the treatment was so severe. His humor made the program watchable but the message and his journey was very sobering.

All I can say again is all the best with this and hopefully the treatment is bearable.

Morning [ref]pvr[/ref],

I did avoid watching until i was a week or so into Chemo, as i wanted to compare notes.
I found Rhod's use of the word "Brutal" to be fair  (Have alway liked the guy)

I have completly avoided Google

Forgot to mention, lfull head of hair fell out last weekend, that was quick
(many will know, i am not vain so no issue there :P )
Had a shave on Monday, it's now Friday and no stubble has grown back. Wierd.

Health:
Round 2 started Friday. 3 hours to get drugged up. Then fitted with the Chemo pump again :x
Took Nintendo switch to pass the time.
Pain, Nausea, zero energy again. Oh well

X3:
Put 100 miles on it last week, so not to bad.

Rear parking sensor's going nut's though. One has lost paint / covering ?
Quick google show's new sensor to stickers ?

I have the right touch up paint, BMW A08 Silbergrau. Would a clean and paint be a fix ?
Or should i pull a fuse and use the tow bar ?

Cheers

Good luck with the current round

With the X3 - water ingress is a sure way to make them go nuts, a hairdryer could revive that. Simple to pull out and replace for a cheap eBay unit if need be though.

Thought the tow bar was for protection against others 8)

Thanks Paul,

You can see how happy i was fitted with the pump again, was not expecting that.
Damn i look ill / crap, lost alot of weight.
BTW the chin was after a shave about 10 days ago, no stubble growth at all :D

(Apolagise in advance if i spam the forum, am drugged up and bored  )

Hope you are over the worst of the side effects of your latest Chemo . How are the windows holding up in this latest storm ?

Got to say...your attitude is admirable, Sean.
In our thoughts.
You need to get back on your feet quickly, the 'caretaking' of your block is not going to do itself!

Thanks for your thoughts guy's, is really appreciated

Chemo pump came out Wednesday evening, Yay :)
Last of the self injections applied yesterday, so need to flush that crap out ASAP.

So still a bit Tom Dick, the ex (seperated 10 years) kindly giving me a lift for today's appointment.
Seeing a consultant about taking my teeth out in preparation for Radiotherapy and the reconstruction process.
Still not googeling anything so have no idea what that all entails, apart from the obvious :?
(Wonder if i can order a set of "Jurgen Klopp's" )
Will just keep doing what the proffesionals tell me. Simples i think.

[ref]1536Z4[/ref], Doors not blown in. Was very, very noisy last night. I managed 6 hours sleep which was a blessing.

Cars not being driven, expect to be fit Thursday so planning trips out then.

Round 3 is 1st Feb, that seems to be coming around fast :?

Still on the planet, so all good :driving:

[ref]Pondrew[/ref], Been checking up on the cleaners work, is spotless, so you can rest easy
