Pistonheads Sunday Service - 3 December 2023

I don't know if any forum members use this website but for any that do they have a Sunday Service booked for 500 cars at Thruxton.

I'm on the list and have booked a session on the Skid Pan, but places for that are selling out fast!

Hopefully I won't be the only Z4 there.

Aye if its pouring down I will bail...been to a few car meets lately where the rain 'threatened' and literally 90% of cars didnt show.

I did massively consider that one. Do you have a time slot?

Yes, the earliest I could get was for midday. But for less than £30 it looked like too good a chance to pass up!

Should be interesting anyway as it's the first car I've had with an LSD, so it seemed like a good idea to see what happens. :lol:

Snappy-snap-snap oversteer, transitioning into fishtailing as you try to correct, and then a big spin
The short wheelbase makes it relatively hard to balance in a slide, at least until you’ve tried it a few times. It should be great fun though

That sounds exciting. :lol:

I may need to consult my mate Mr Spinney who got his nickname around the same I got mine, based on his oval racing exploits frequently facing the wrong way! :lol:

Well I got some bad news today. My skidpan session has been cancelled "due to circumstances beyond their control" - presumably meaning the skidpan is likely to be an ice rink!

Still they are going to refund me so it's not all bad, although I had been looking forward to it.

Given the current forecast I will probably decide whether to go on the day!

Fair few E85 / E86 there today, which was good to see!

I popped along today, saw some lovely E86's there. Weather was a bit naff but good to get out and see some nice cars. There was a Z3 coverted to a Ferrari look alike which looked really well done. Took a few pics

I'll confess now. After getting my skidpan session cancelled on Friday and seeing the weather forecast last night I decided to have a lie in this morning.

Looking at Robs photos I'm glad I did.
