2005 BMW Z4 3.0i - 40k Miles

For sale is my pride and joy for the last three years. I have only run the car during fine weather in the summer months and have, therefore, done very little mileage, c.1000miles in my ownership with the clocks currently sitting at 40,470 miles.

The car has just one previous owner from new and is complete with original bill of sale, all original documentation and keys. The car was originally bought as a retirement present and spent its early years exploring the wine regions of France!

It took me many months to find this car and it is a stunning specification. Options include; Xenon headlamps, Park Distance Control, wind deflector, Heated Beige Interior, Sapphire Black metallic paintwork and 18” Ellipsoid Alloy wheels.

Under my ownership, it has had one new brake calliper fitted and a new Bosch battery fitted after the original gave up the ghost. The engine has been serviced and the DISA valve inspected for wear maintaining full service history. The car will also be freshly serviced and MOT’d prior to sale, the car is currently in storage in my folks’ garage as I have relocated.

The underside of the car has been cleaned and undersealed with Dinitrol underbody protection, all of the sill panels and bumpers were removed to ensure full coverage.
It has also been garaged from new under a custom fit fleece car cover and only caught out in the rain on one occasion in my ownership.

The car’s condition is still absolutely original and has not had any paintwork done, however, there are some small imperfections to commensurate the mileage such as minor stone chips etc. The Sapphire Black paint absolutely gleams in the sun and has been carefully polished and waxed regularly. The soft cream leather has been continually cleaned and conditioned and is as supple and soft as new. Being absolutely obsessive about maintaining the car’s originality and condition, I have also installed new gearknob and over mats to protect the factory beige items. The steering wheel and all of the controls exhibit no wear. Everything all works perfectly.
It is truly an exceptional example of such a brilliant car, it still feels so factory fresh and defies its age at this point. I am sad to be letting this one go but the car does not get used as it should do and it sadly doesn’t really fit into my life at the moment.

The car is located currently located near Penzance, Cornwall. I find it difficult to know where price this as lower mileage examples are always difficult to gauge so I will start by asking for £6995 ono. Worth every penny I reckon, if the weather sorts its act out! :D

I will update the advert with more detail on the service history over the bank holiday weekend when I have it to hand.

Might be worth adding that the MOT expired in December...

Would expect a new one upon purchase surely

Of course, but it’s seems to have ‘sat still’ for nearly six months, possibly longer. It does look a clean example though

Don’t get me wrong, low mileage cars are obviously used less, and it may well be a fantastic example... but it’s hard to tell from photo’s alone

The ad clearly states the car will be serviced and MOT'd prior to sale.

And explains that the car is in storage. These low mileage cars can't exist without spending a fair amount of time standing still - you can't have your cake and eat it.

Car looks good - I hope it's snapped up by someone from within our midst :)

That is a fantastic car for the money, on the face of it. With one previous owner, low mileage and original wheels it looks soo genuine.
The ONLY problem I can foresee is that it is in Penzance. Unless the prospective buyer lives in Cornwall, or perhaps South Devon, it's a bloody long way to go for anyone else. Not that that should put a genuine enthusiast off, but it's a trek to view and may put some off. Just thinking practically. GLWTS

The MOT history doesn't get much better either.

You won't be buying then?

I bet you're a hoot at parties! :headbang:

Hi,

I've just registered on the forums so no possibility to send a private message - could you send me an email on [email protected]?

Happy to discuss from there, apologies all about posting this here but as far as I know there's no other way I can get in touch!

Thanks,

H

Thanks all for your kind comments. Yes, the car currently does not have MOT, I think I will try to get this done sooner rather than later as I know it is off putting. The car is currently safely stored under a posh custom fit car cover, the battery is regularly trickle charged and I do try to regularly take the car out of the garage and get it up to temperature to keep the fluids moving. The reason it has sat for a while is purely down to me not wanting or having to let the car go! But, I agree that the car must be regularly used and enjoyed so the time has come for me to part with it. Being right at the bottom of the country certainly isn't helpful, I had the same problem when I was buying one and ended up doing a 750mile round trip to fetch this one.

How do you deduce that?

I bet you’re judgemental.... take a stab at how I’ve come to that conclusion :poke:

This does look like a cracking example, I wasn’t intending to be negative about the car at all... just making an observation

Best of luck with the sale
