Hardtop Colour, Opinons Please

I had a ballpark quote last week for getting it sprayed, not only did they want to remove the spoiler they also wanted to remove the rear screen rather than mask it off to ensure they got a proper key with the paint.

Actually the shop is pretty much right on. To re-paint the hardtop, the spoiler must come off. If you want a good job done there's no alternative. Taking off the spoiler isn't very difficult either; simply remove the liner first and loosen up a few bolts that hold the spoiler in place. A 15 minute job tops. The window, on the other hand, could be masked off.

Enough said - Get it resprayed or exchanged for a Sterling Silver.

If it were me I'd buy this bag, unless you already have one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMW-Z4-ROADST...arms=66:2|65:1|39:1|240:1318#ebayphotohosting
Hang it on the wall to store and sell it in the Autumn when prices rocket. Meanwhile hold on for a Sterling Grey that will start to be sold off in the next few weeks as the weather warms up. Not only will you avoid a respray, but make a profit on it over the 6 months.

This is what it should look like:

First of all... come on Ireland :) :) :)

Secondly, yes, for the price it would cost to get it resprayed so it ASAP. As you can see from the pics posted by "cj10jeeper"... the sterling grey looks slick with a matching hard top

Kinda makes it look like a new Vauxhall Tigra. Do you really want to be associated with that?

Can you not get a vinly wrap in matte black/dark grey.

Would look cool then, kinda stealth soft top but not. Then it's also suitable for resale to a titanium silver owner in the future still.

Hmmm

It looks terrible. But it could've been worse. It could've been these. From the same crowds who bashed the Z4's styling. :fuelfire:

It looks like the same hardtop being passed along to different cars

OK enough, you have all confirmed my gut feeling.

I had missed out on buying a few as I work aboard quite a bit and they always seemed to come up when I had just left home, this one came up I was at home and jumped on it before I lost out again, it came with the BMW wheeled stand and a storage bag.

The only time it will go back on the car is to take it to the sprayers, unless a bargin sterling grey on in excellent condition turns when I'm home. In which case the silver one will be up for sale.
