I think basically every mclaren is awesome

+1 and its british would be my choice if I won some money :D

You've always been a big 911 fan, Tom. Would you take this over a Turbo S? All the reviews so far seem to think that this is the car that will really make the likes of Porsche and Audi sweat. The P1 is astonishing but so unaffordable its barely worth thinking about as something people actual buy. The 675LT is insane too, but still based on the 12C and not as good an all rounder as this 570s, by the sounds of things.

With prices of R8s hitting £30k now, this might actually be a McLaren one of us mere mortals can afford in a few years time. :o

Beautiful, like all of their cars. Shame they can't build a formula 1 car for s**t anymore...

Ye a turbo wouldt be the car I would want, really fast but a one trick pony I prefer the NA. A gt4s would be the one as the best all rounder for me. The mclarren is one above this its technically a supercar. 911 for the week this for the weekend :D dreams...

The only problem with the mclarrens is everything else. The engineering is awesome but the cabin and its electronics aren't quite up to the likes of the competition. There were a lot of issues with he 12c not sure how well ironed out they are now. But its British and I like that.

PVR was looking at them and decided against because of the above reasons I think.

I've sat in one about a month ago at the Concours of Elegance in Edinburgh - to be honest I thought it was a bit ungainly in comparison to the 650S and certainly the 675LT.

Not sure what the price difference is but I'd prefer the 650 as having got in and out of one it's not the everyday supercar they claim .

Probably go GT3 over it TBH or a Turbo S ... But the residuals would be the scary thing on the Turbo S.

My favourite of the current crop of new metal has to be:-

http://www.carsguide.com.au/car-reviews/2015-porsche-boxster-spyder-review-first-drive-34016

Shall I go get me coat. :D

Lets hope they both do a little spot of depreciating.

I'm really hoping they do the same but the local porsche centre told me he got 3 and had similar interest on them to the GT4.... So I'm not hopeful .

I have been lucky enough to review and drive a 650s over a long weekend recently; it was worlds apart from the zed and stupidly quick. I may even go out on whim and say it was too fast for the road.... no denying that McLaren have got in nailed with their road cars at present though, just need to win the lottery now so I can buy one.
Hopefully at some point in the future I will get to drive/ review the 570S and give an overall comparison of them both.

Like your thinking. 911 seems like a rite of passage for petrolheads, but the £100k - £150k market has become pretty interesting now that the higher end sports car / GT models have a proper overlap with carbon-tubbed crazy cars like this.

Supposedly this is one of the things that they have sorted - fully bespoke digital dash, ICE etc - along with the exhaust note, ease of access etc. I guess this means that pvr needs to step up. :P

For me there is absolutely worlds apart between this and a 911. Don't mistake me, I love the 911 but comparing it to a McLaren is a bit like comparing a Vauxhall to a Merc/Audi/BMW. 918 aside, the Turbo S is Porsche's dearest offering isn't it (maybe the 3RS is similar) whereas as this is Mclaren's entry level model at the moment.

For sheer presence, wow factor etc they aren't even close.

918 and GT3 RS and 959 and Turbo S and Carrera GT aside never built a supercar those boys in Stuttgart eh OG. and they no nothing about Motorsport.
