MAGUIRES HOTSHINE TIRE TREATMENT NOT HAPPY

I've been using AG Tyre Dressing for a few years now and am happy with it apart from overspray and having to get the residue off the wheels, so When I had to get some more AG Shampoo from Halfrauds I thought I'd use the 3 for 2 deal and get some other goodies , I decided on some maguires detainer and some Hotshine tire treatment , normally I test new stuff on my comp car but this time I'll use the zed ,With Maguires products you cannot see the instructions until you purchase and you remove the panel on the back of the product , so I purchased the tire treatment ,so got home peeled back the panel which said basically you MUST remove any splatter from painted plastic surfaces , now i'm not the sharpest tool in the box I accept but correct me if im wrong but the front front bumper is painted plastic the rear bumper is painted plastic and the cill is painted plastic , and the wheel, arch liner is plastic, so why is this sold for use were its odds on its going to come into contact with err plastic , so I thought this perhaps ain't the best product for my pride and joy , and its going back tomoz , now, have I missed something here troops , please advise :headbang:

The best product ive ever come across for tyres , under bonnet plastics ( wait until dry then buff off with dry cloth)
& diluted with some AG rubber & vinyl works a absolute treat on interior plastics/rubber .
One good application & the finish stays fresh for months on trim & outlasts any other tyre dressing ive tried

Hello Mr Wilks
Are you agreeing with me re the Maquires hotshine tire treatment or recommending the turtle wax platinum series product which I'm sure does what it supposed to without the risk of damaging your car

Most of the bummpphhh on the packaging is designed to cover themselves .
I like to try out different products & make my own mind up how or where they work best
Ive tried the Megs tyreshine & AG & various others , yea they all work but to what level ?
As a daily driver most are gone within a day / 30 miles
, a weekender you may be ok until next time out ?
The Turtlewax stuff works best for me , maybe others have a product that works better for them :?

The best I have ever used is called Espuma Tyre Dressing — PerryGunn gave me some. You hardly need use any at all, lasts a decent length of time (I drive mine daily), and best of all I get no 'throw' off the tyres at all. I am running out now though, and the downside is you need to buy 5L for £35... Though you may be able to find someone on eBay who has decanted it and is selling it in smaller bottles. Worth a punt, eve if you pay a bit over the odds for a small bottle.

I do also have the purple megs endurance which I agree works well... But I need to let that dry for a while or it throws off the tyres.

Nice tip mr B , we go through a decent amount with 4 vehicles in the house now with junior wilks's R32 so i will give that a try

Seriously good stuff. Perry brought a urine sample bottle that was about 3/4 full to Wales... I know, weird, but Mrs Gunn works in healthcare. After we cleaned our cars he managed to do both our cars' wheels with that tiny amount. I've been using a small tropicana orange juice bottle that he gave me on the Skye run at the end of August last year and it's only just running out now. I'll get one more use out of it I reckon.

You need to use a small sponge so you don't use too much - he used the sponge side of 1/3 of a Brillo pad from a tesco multipack that could just be thrown away after. He's full of great ideas

As usual troops the Zed forum comes up trumps , I'll be taking the magiures stuff I purchase today back tomorrow :headbang: , I'll be considering all the advice you have supplied folks thanks for your help

Meguiars endurance tyre gel is the one you want mate. Best tyre shine product i've ever used.

I've used this for years. the bottle I have now is half full and I've had it 3 years. If you use a foam applicator and after use just keep it in a little bag, after a while the product just builds up and you can do the tyres without applying new product. The foam applicator just retains the gel. Tyres shouldn't really 'Shine' as such and this gives a nice natural look, deep black but not over glossy.

Thanks for the advice mate I'll make a decision after I've got rid of the Tire treatment I accept tyres should not really shine ,but I do like the effect.I like the idea of applying with a foam applicator for convenience though, the AG tyre Black overspray can dribble down the wheel which is a pain ,but I don't mind so much it getting in the wheel arch though as inside The arches are spotless ,and I like the new look a treatment provides in this area ,

Hi troops Just been looking thro the gallery ,the effect I want is what Tom Scott has achieved with his silver Coupe , it's a rear three quarter shot ,that looks brill  does anyone know what he has done /used to achieve this on his tyres ,

The Espuma dressing is called RD50 - it's cheaper from Amazon (delivered for around £38 for 5L), or you can get a 250ml trial size direct from Espuma but they charge a ridiculous £8 for it

That's not cheap , but that's the effect I want , it's a toss up on how far you want to go I suppose , ,if the wife knew how I spent on cleaning and detailing products ,she would do something unpleasant to me ,or pleasant depending on your lifestyle choice

Sorry, I don't know if that's what Tom used - I was expanding on Bing's earlier posts regarding the Espuma dressing I gave him

No probs perry ,all info is gratefully accepted
Bloke on detailing world reckons AG RUBBER PLUS PRO CLEANER ,is basically the same stuff as the espuma RD50 , only problem it comes in a 5l can ,also AG don't do a consumer / Joe public version , ,maybe someone has done some small containerised versions I'm on the hunt , :headbang:
