Hi there, can anyone tell me the materiel that the Z4 bodywork is made from? Is it aluminium or steel? Just want to know if i need to worry about rust on stone chips on the bonnet or on the side just behind the front wheels. Many thanks, Jim Edit to say i am specifically asking about the E86.

I have had one for 3 years and 75k miles. It was fantastic at what it does, and i would expect 45mpg on a good run (i havd over 50mpg on steady runs on my manual).

Another Ex VX220 driver advocating the use of tepid water here. You may be able to get away with not using a fairy liquid bottle on the Z4, as i would have thought the door handles would still work when frozen unlike the VX. I remember getting funny looks from the neighbours as i squirted water...

All being well I pick it up tomorrow!!! :D

Cheers guys i went for the Roadster as i am addicted to the topless experience 8) . Glad to hear i am not the only one who has moved over from a VX. I have gone to the midlands meet twice, so may well have done - do you guys do Z4 meets? would be good to get some of the low down on the car...
