    MSport Springs

Somehow cannot understand why so many here have the wrong springs or shocks. When I bought my 3.0si sport it had msport springs and standard Sachs replacement shocks at the front and standard SE BMW springs with worn m sport shocks at the back. Whoever replaced the probably snapped rear springs...

5 years here and I never introduced myself

Hi @Alemito , Your list of retrofits is quite comprehensive and there are some real gems among them. One thing that caught my eye is the X3 front and rear retrofit with OEM button. How did you realize the OEM button since in X3 it is incorporated in a module with DSC, seat heating and other...

Sticky steering --> fixed in Germany. What I learnt..

I‘ll be visiting him in a weeks time. As I live in south of Europe I opted for the option to bring the column without the car, as I will be traveling all over Germany collecting various car parts that would not fit into the Z4 boot. I can assure you, taking the column out on a RHD is a PITA...

Can the steering wheel buttons circled in the picture in the post be used for something?

With a BlueBus device the left button activates Siri and pauses/resumes playback. The right one still does nothing.

Sticky steering --> fixed in Germany. What I learnt..

It is around 750€ for a LHD and another 100€ for a RHD car due to more complex dismantling procedure

Fix one thing, another thing breaks... Such is life

As @enuff_zed pointed put, probably a rear wheel sensor you messed up while doing the handbrake cables and shields. Another thing could be the ABS ring on the drive shaft. DSC, ABS and tyre pressure all rely on the correct readings from the wheel sensor, hence all those warning lights on.

Installing OEM PDC to a non-PDC bumper

Exactly, that is what I was pointing out.

    Drying carpet :(

@elfer this surely will not dry within a day. After using the towels, lift the carpet as much as you can by putting something sturdy enough to keep it away from the metal letting air to circulate. Then use the dehumidifier for 3-4 days to get all out.

Installing OEM PDC to a non-PDC bumper

Yes, those brackets are not sold separately as spare parts, they come already attached to the bumper. The outer hole is larger and the bracket gets also painted to form that bevel. Those sold on AliEx didn’t look exactly the same, so bought a PDC bumper for my retrofit in the end. After around...

Installing OEM PDC to a non-PDC bumper

It will not look exactly OEM as the holes are indented, not just drilled through. There is no item for the 4 sensor holders in the parts catalogue, but you can reuse yours. Unlike newer cars where there is only one bumper version and the holes are drilled at the repair shop and holders glued...

    Sound deadening pre-facelift e85

I have a facelift but still did the doors for improvement. The noise now mainly comes from behind - through the softtop fabric side parts and from the large side space where the roof mechanism folds. It resonates and the rear wheel is just behind. Porsche has done that neatly by placing a cover...

    Extended leather with wind deflector

Mine has extended leather with leather on roll hoops and the wind deflector mounted from factory, so no concern about fitting

    Liam's Z4C race car project

Respect for all the effort. What brand was the control arm? OE or aftermarket?

What have you done to your car today?

You do not need to unscrew any screws to remove bulb holder. Just turn the holder counterclockwise some 30 degrees and pull out. Be gentle not to break off the holder wings.

    Anyone know what this is?

On those plastic brackets the tabs are broken off anyway, so you can only glue them back in place on the rear crash bar or mount differently. The brackets serve as a distancing element to keep the wire away from other metal
