Fair enough on the 20i - would probably need to test one. Just the idea of a BMW 6cyl appeals, irrespective of practicality considerations... Adaptive suspension and DCT the key bits there?

Not necessarily set on 6 cyl, though would prefer it - and would probably go for the 28i rather than 20i if I went for the 4 pot. I like that third one - what are the big differences between 35i & iS? I realise this is basic stuff!

I saw the MOT failures, not sure if it's a common issue but doesn't bother me provided they've been replaced. Good to know the dealer is ok too, P/X not a concern so good news. I'll be looking at a warranty definitely - will be a weekend car of sorts so not anticipating too much mileage but...
