Ok I have a 2008 alpine white 2.0 I purchased the car and removed the roof to clean around drainage etc and also to check damp in motor... All fine Refitted and worked absoulty perfect for 12 months... Last week when I pressed the down button the orange light appeared with no movement at all...

hi, thanks for the info, where are you located in ireland im about 25 mins from bfast....... anyways..... by out - should it be protraying the motor by about 2/3mm or more as mine only is this amount :? also is there any way of repair of thisbrass button or is it a whole new motor...

to be fully operational does the brass nib have to be pushed in then? can you buy a replacement bowden cable? :|

i firstly thought that was the problem also, does this run in the basis that when the cable is pulled it presses the lever to push the little copper nib into the motor, thus allowing the fluid to flow freely? i have tried both this pressed in and without any metal contact, both options...

i did pull it to help with the movement of the roof during the removal, although it does seem quite loose now and im not 100% sure it has fully been reset as there is about 0.5/1cm play in the cable :|

Hi, I hate being a pain but ive tried all the searches but nothings matching my problem..... I removed the roof of my 2008 Z4 straight after purchase to give the whole car a complete clean..... The roof was 100% Functional on removal.... After the clean i replaced the roof and fully fitted it...
