I'm going to fit a new pressure mat myself on my 2006 Z4. Anybody know the part number and where I can get it at a reasonable price ? I believe up to 2005 the mat was a 2-wire unit; from 2006 it was changed to a 3-wire unit. Anybody done this ?

Well stated. BMW have us over a barrel on this. I wonder if replacing the mat is a DIY job ? I can find good postings on removing the seat but nothing on actually replacing the mat.
