What have you done to your car today?

Had a good chance to test the ride on the CSLs over the weekend - jaunt out to hit some great peak district roads smooth stuff like cat and fiddle and some harsh b-roads in-between I had no issues with the ride, it is slightly firmer compared to 18” but not crashy - I’d say in keeping with a...

What have you done to your car today?

Cheers mate really happy with them: I went for the 19” Atomics with 225/35 and 265/30. Haven’t had chance to drive anywhere with them yet but will report back on ride coming from the 18” Wheels here...

What have you done to your car today?

Got some new wheels and tyres on today, thanks to BMAutosport. Overdone CSLs but come on, they’re perfect. Went with Sport Contact 7s for the first time, looking forward to testing them out in the Peaks at the weekend My old slightly battered MV2s will need to go soon if anyone fancies them...

    N52 Shredded belt

Scratch that, I’m just blind - inner pulley is spinning as it should 👍🏻 I’ll go with your explanation Rucky as to why the old one shredded, aswell as a sub standard belt. Will keep an eye on it, but seems to be sorted for now - cheers

    N52 Shredded belt

Got new gaskets on this weekend aswell as a new tensioner and belt - all OE supplier or good quality elring/febi Looking at the old belt I think it was pretty poor quality, and maybe even too narrow - 4/5 grooves instead of 6 One thing I did notice once the car was running again; my AC pulley...

    N52 Shredded belt

Noticed my aux belt is shredded on one side The ofh is leaking directly onto the belt, it has sprayed a grimey mixture of oil and belt material around the area. I’m installing gaskets for the oil filter housing + cooler, valve cover, ess and valvetronic - as they’re all perished and leaking...

    DSC/ABS Trifecta + No speedo

Update: Got the new to me DSC unit installed and coded by a great place called Fixed Automotive in Stockport, I spoke directly with James and would highly recommend. Victory - communication is back with the module along with speedo and other problems that came with no wheel speed are solved...

    DSC/ABS Trifecta + No speedo

Thanks Street Finally got my car back My main concern with installing the unit is the coding side, what software is needed (I have a laptop and cable, with ISTA installed) and is it a tricky job? Any info or help would be appreciated

    DSC/ABS Trifecta + No speedo

Bad news from the garage, I had my unit sent off for repair - it even made it the R&D department; but it has been deemed irreparable. They have quoted £1400 for a brand new unit fitted (obviously out of the question) I have purchased a second hand unit, but the garage have said they’re not able...

    Wheel Spacers on an E86

I’ve just installed 15mm front and 20mm rear, also running MV2s. Really happy with the fitment, pretty close to the limit thought I’d say - I’m also on slightly lowered Eibach Pro Kit springs (30-40mm lower I believe) for reference

    DSC/ABS Trifecta + No speedo

Apologies to keep adding to this thread; with a potentially dumb question: My DSC module has a of P/N: 3451-6769162-02 The one I’ve found has: 3451-6769162-01 Identical, apart from that final 01 vs 02. Does this matter? Struggling to find an answer elsewhere

    DSC/ABS Trifecta + No speedo

Had it at The Workshop for a PPI and a quick look at the DSC, they confirmed no connection to the DSC module. I have it booked in again with them in 2 weeks (busy shop) to further look into diagnosing the ABS issue. But a chat did seem to point towards a dead module, or potentially another...

    DSC/ABS Trifecta + No speedo

Yeah my gut agrees with you; I have it booked in with a local Bmw specialist (The Workshop Leeds) on monday for a second opinion. Might take you up on that offer dependant on what the outcome is
