Great post OP. I'm also a serial mx5 owner and like you loved my NC. But also intrigued to try a z4. The one that that currently concerns is the ride in the z4, all the contemporary reviews criticised it, which isnt a problem the mx5 suffers with. (Well until you do what I did with coilovers...
