Sold my Z4, and have this left.
TMC tuning box for BMW Z4 sDrive20i
http://www.tmcmotorsport.com/TuningBoxDetails.aspx?SID=608895664
Takes the car from 184 bhp to 249 bhp. 270NM to 360NM torque
I used it for 16,000 miles with no problems.
Made it a whole lot more fun to drive. Took it off...
I took delivery of this car on 20th January 2013 with 12 miles on the clock.
Now offered for sale with 21,000 miles. Main dealer serviced from new (only one service at present) and a vehicle has a service pack good until the end of 2016, which means your first service should be free. Still...
OK, after a nightmare of a time when I had the RunFlats up front and traditional rubber at the back (the Stability/Traction Control light was on CONSTANTLY) I now have Eagle F1s all round and I cannot believe the improvement.
Better ride, same handling. Wasn't cheap, when all I really needed...
I wish to drop the car slightly without spoiling the handling, or the ride if possible. Improved handling would be a bonus.
Price is not the criterion, value is.
I am happy to spent the £2k if I am told this is the only way to achieve my objective. But if I can get 90% the performance for 40%...
Cheers Jonny, Machine Monkey - if you are happy with the Spax, I'm not going to spend £2K on Bilsteins.
Might investigate the D2s, because they look pretty and have a camber plate.
Thinking of putting aftermarket coilovers on my Z4 for a small drop in ride height.
I’ve looked around and seen these:
Spax £630
D2 £640
KW V1 £900
H&R £1100
KW V3 £1400
Bilstein £1900
Clearly a wide range of prices there. Are the cheaper ones worth touching?
Any idea which offer...
Thanks for the advice everyone.
Eagles for the front on order!
More air going in to the rears as soon as I get a chance this morning!
SmartTOP ordered - what next?
Yeah, I thought it might be that, but naively assumed that since they were professionally fitted - they'd have put the right pressure in.
But given how comfy the rear end feels, I guess under-pressure is probably the problem.
Another look around here tells me that people don't run...
I got a puncture on my rear tyres on my 2012 Z4 2.0.
Read around on here and decided to replace both rears with Goodyears Eagle F1s.
These are not RunFlats, but are meant to be amongst the best conventional tyres.
The ride has improved with the suspension now far less crashy on the pretty...
My Z4 is still low mileage, and throwing all that (expensive) tread away seems a waste. But I put Ultra Sessantas on my previous car (Megane Sport 250) and loved them. Will not hesitate to put them on the Z4 when the time comes.
Presumably my rears will need replacing long before my fronts...
