I didn't actually want a convertible. I purchased an E86 - it was awesome but the engine broke. So, I compromised on the e89. Roof down driving is the best - I’m glad it worked out this way and pretty much have to always have a convertible in the fleet now.

Finally replaced the melted BMW handle - with an unmelted BMW handle. Hopefully they still have this part in another 10 years.

You can test the chain by removing the oil cap and trying to move it with an o-ring pick, or a fork etc. If you can move it - thats the issue. If it’s tight - it’s probably something else.

Does anyone have 325m wheels they are looking to move on? It has to be a full set with staggered offsets - no welds. Mine need a full refurb - might be easier to swap them out.

If you have cycled the roof a few times it will bong and stop you using it. It says something about it in the manual. It gets too hot - it’s probably just that.

It sounds like you want a car which is more "driver focused" so the E86 is the right car. E89 is more of a luxury cruiser. It doesn't handle brilliant, but it’s decent for chilling, rather than pushing it around each corner. I don’t get what people are doing on the roads to need any more out...

Could be within tolerance. Aren't cats expensive? If it’s a couple of sensors could save some cash. As I said, it needs some digging. If cats are cheap enough, it’s a decent place to start.
